Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?
Giving credit where credit is due. A big thank you to all the coders at PBS and various resource sites for any codes, plug-ins and templates.
Thanks to Nick @ Fidelius for the fabulous mini-profile. Everything else was created by our own staff. If we missed someone please let us know.
We don't own Supernatural, we just enjoy it's awesomeness. Thanks Eric Kripke for creating it, all the writers/producers for putting out a great show and the CW for keeping it on the air for almost 10 years now!
When we first arrived at the convention Thursday night, we met our friends Judy and Teresia. We had a drink with them down by the bar and then went to bed since we go there late. Friday, during the day was Julie MvNiven and Rachel Minor. Their panels were amazing. Julie was talking about some of her friends in show business, and Rachel talked about the show and Meg, and a bunch of other things. My friends got Rachel to sign my autograph because I forgot, and when she did, she saw the pic of me and said “I remember her, she was a sweetheart!” or something along that line. I thought that was so sweet of her to say.
Friday night was Karaoke, and we got there, and it was so crowded it was almost hard to see. It was also hotter then usual because something was wrong with the AC. Karaoke was a blast, and when Sebastian came at midnight it was crazy! He sang the Beatles “Happy Birthday” song with us, which was awesome. It was actually his birthday that night. Karaoke is always one of my most favorite parts of the convention even though I don’t actually sing in front of anyone. Richard and Matt and the other actors just make it so much fun!
The next morning was Sebastian’s meet n greet. It was actually really fun. We talked about movies, and also about how he hates florescent lights in the room! Talked a little about the Batman Movie, and I asked him if he liked Avatar, and he says he loves it. Sebastian also talked a little of politics, but then we went back to talking about movies.
The meet n greet went very well and then we got to take a group picture after. We also had the Mark Sheppard, Mark Pelegrino, and Sebastian panel that day, it was really fun and I liked how Mark Sheppard said to the fans ‘quit whining!’. I think that needed to be said to some LOL. Also Richard and Matt did a very funny reenactment of 50 Shades of Grey (a book I never heard about until that morning). I also got to meet Jim Beaver and he was awesome too. He signed my autographs and put ‘Kyle, where were you?’ on Kyle’s (my friends) which was funny. I also told him he probably gets this a lot but he made me cry when Bobby died. He said he made all the girls cry. LOL. Isn’t that the truth?
Sunday morning was the breakfast with Misha and Jared. They talked about the Olympics and Speed Walking, and they actually had a speed walking race with one of the fans which was pretty fun. Then we had Misha’s meet n greet.
The meet n greet started out with all of us discussing GISHWHES’S, the scavenger hunt that was done back in November. We all told stories of what we did for the scavenger hunt. I told him how I stepped in a pile of ants trying to get the surfboard pic and he was like ‘aww man’ and I said ‘its okay, it was for the scavenger hunt’ and we all laughed. Then some of the others told their stories as well.
Someone asked Misha about a video of West on his phone, but he couldn’t show us one because it was a video of West eating a popsicle for the first time and being obscene about it. Then someone brought up the book “Everybody Poops” so we were laughing and talking about that.
He was talking about his other projects such as Divine, and also doing something called “A Very Stone hedge Christmas” but some of his smaller projects were being put on hold because Supernatural wanted him back. He talked about owning the copyrights to Par 6 and maybe releasing it online so people can see it. Someone asked him about doing an Angel spinoff of Supernatural, and he said not yet, but he is interested in doing something like that. He said maybe one day.
Then we talked about Ben Edlund and what a great writer he is. He also talked about hanging out in Ben’s living room a bit, but then described what that was like. He started acting like Ben which was pretty funny.
Someone brought up Matt and Richard’s reenactment of 50 Shades of Grey, and we had to explain that to him. He asked if it was badly written porn, and if it was a slash fiction. I asked if it had to do with Supernatural (I never heard of it until Richard snd Matt’s reenactment), and they said no. Some of the fans told him they want Jensen to be one of the actors in the book if it became a movie.
Then Misha brought up how he made Castiel’s voice and that it actually hurts his voice to do that, so I said something about how that was kind of the same way you growl into a saxophone (because I’m a saxophone player). He brought up that he played the saxophone, and had an alto and tenor but it burnt down in a house fire. Then he asked me about my gigs and teaching a little bit, and he mentioned how he hadn’t picked up the saxophone since that happened. I told him I could teach him and he said ‘yes you can.’ I thought that was cool even though it probably won’t happen. haha. I also mentioned that I sent him a few of my saxophone CD’s and he remembered them.
After that he mentioned how he had a wedding the night before the convention, so he flew back from the wedding, and then to New Jersey. He also mentioned how Vicki was terrified of turbulence.
I was actually one of the last ones at the meet n greet because I had to do the Jared photo op, but they didn’t start until everyone was there. At the end of the meet n greet, I pulled Misha into a quick hug and said ‘thank you so much’, because I felt he deserved to know that the things he does really impacts our lives. I wanted him to know how much the scavenger hunt meant to me so I told him that I had a hard year (I was not about to get into everything about what happened though), and that I did the scavenger hunt as a ‘start over’. I think he appreciated hearing that (I hope anyway).
Sunday after the meet n greet, was Jared and Misha’s panel. Misha came out first and people asked him about the scavenger hunt, and one person actually wanted him to apologize because he was asked to do one of the items in the hunt. Misha didn’t apologize though because it was his friends who talked him into doing the hunt. I agree with Misha on this because it was that persons choice to do the scavenger hunt item. Just like how I told Misha that I couldn’t do the pet hair one because I was allergic to cats and dogs, and Misha said ‘that was very wise of you not to do that’ (during the meet n greet). Then Misha and Jared also acted out a script with Misha reading Dean’s part, and Jared reading Castiel’s part which was Hillarious.
All in all, the convention was amazing. I really think that the actors are so nice in making us feel like part of the family, and an example of this is on Saturday night, at the cocktail party, I was half asleep and nearly falling asleep at my table (a few fans were), so Sebastian, because he remembered me from the meet n greet, came right next to me, and banged on the table and said ‘wake up!’ really loud. Also, I had hurt my hand the weekend before so I had a brace on, and I was desperately trying to hide it cause I didn’t want people to go ‘what happened?’. Although, Richard did and was so funny about it! He goes ‘what happened?’ and I told him how I hurt it lifting two suitcases at once at the airport, and he goes ‘tell people you got in a bar fight!’. I thought ‘thats what my brother would have said!” I love how they make you feel like family.
