Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?
Giving credit where credit is due. A big thank you to all the coders at PBS and various resource sites for any codes, plug-ins and templates.
Thanks to Nick @ Fidelius for the fabulous mini-profile. Everything else was created by our own staff. If we missed someone please let us know.
We don't own Supernatural, we just enjoy it's awesomeness. Thanks Eric Kripke for creating it, all the writers/producers for putting out a great show and the CW for keeping it on the air for almost 10 years now!
Perched on the chair provided in the motel room, Paris wrapped her fingers around the mug of warm coffee, listening to the television. She smiled to herself, thinking about what she had 'observed' in town the day before. The people that had crossed her path, and how they related to each other. There couples on the right path, and a few that shouldn't have been together.
Setting the mug down she dug around in the dresser drawer, pulling out a pair of jeans, red t-shirt and grey zip up hoodie. Pulling her clothes on and running a comb through her hair she finished the coffee and felt around for her shoes.
Sitting up, she blinked, biting her lip. She hoped she had been subtle enough about things. Attracting unwanted demon attention, or any other for that matter, wasn't exactly high on her to do list.
Walking out of her motel room, Kate found herself on the parking lot of the motel next to the building. She had come her for a job, that had turned out to be a fluke. But it was for certain there was activity here. She just had to find out what. She would have to stay here for a while and do some research on happenings in the close by area. That was alright, she didn’t really have anywhere to be and nobody was waiting for her to come home anyway.
She liked her small apartment, but it wasn’t really home. She was barely there and when she was nobody welcomed her or held her close. She enjoyed the life she lead, it was who she was. A part of her, but sometimes another part of her would get lonely. She wished for someone that would want to be with her, even if she was away often. Or someone that loved her so much they would come with her.
If that was ever to happen, then she would be home wherever she was. She never needed much and probably never would. She was a hunter, but being a hunter also meant she was a human being. She couldn’t be alone forever, could she. She had to believe someday a guy good for her would come along. Luckily her job always provided a chance to take her mind of her loneliness. Now she would have to find out what was going on in this place.
It was strange. There was something, but there didn’t seem to be victims. No abnormal deaths or disappearing. Even strange behaviour was kept to a minimum. It was going to take quit some research to get a clue on what was going on. Oh well, she would find out some time.
(I'm sorry for the delay. It didn't occur to me until now that this thread is the one started for the plot we talked about.)
Isaac sighed as he pushed his last three quarters into the vending machine that had been set against the wall outside the hotel. Seventy-five cents for a can of Coke Classic was complete and utter bullshit, but he was thirsty and he had a thing against motel tap water. He just didn't trust the possibilities of what might be floating around in it. Of course, buying this drink now meant that he was out of laundry money, and that wasn't a good thing because he was running out of clean clothes. He'd have to hustle a game of pool or two tomorrow, or maybe even go the whole street musician route. He hated doing that, but it made the best money for him. It was just unfortunate that it always made him feel like he was cheating his old bandmates.
He pushed the button indicating his selection, listened to the hum of the machine, and watched as... nothing happened. His eyebrows drew together in annoyance as he slammed his palm against the button, again resulting in nothing. Isaac double-checked to be sure the empty indicator light wasn't on, confirmed that it wasn't, and began repeatedly pressing the Coke button with increasing frustration.
After a minute, he finally gave up, forcing himself to relax because letting his anger get the best of him wouldn't exactly be a wise idea. There were quite a few cars in the small parking lot, which meant other patrons at the place, and he couldn't take a chance on hurting someone by letting himself get out of control. "God damn it!" he swore loudly, turning around and leaning his back against the offending machine, his eyes closed as he mentally tried to talk himself down.
Being brought out of her silent thinking Kate looked up to see where the noise whose coming from. What she saw was a young man only slightly older then herself having a little disagreement with the vending machine. Normally she would simply ignore it, but tonight she felt like helping him. Making her way across the parking lot, she walked up to him. “I’m Kate” she told the man. “Having trouble with the vending machine?”
Not waiting for his answer she went to the back of the machine. Having spend too much time at motels she knew the poor ones like this motel had only old stuff. And old vending machines worked a little different from newer ones. Old ones weren’t protected to force as well as others. So she gave one hard hit against the back. If it didn’t work it didn’t, if it did then great.
And sure enough, she heard the sound of a can rolling down.. emerging from behind the vending machine with a smile. “Old trick” she mentioned as she waited for him to pick up his drink. You didn’t even have to actually pay with the old ones she learned. Probably the only good thing about motels this cheap. But no need to tell him that. He would just have to find out himself.
As she took her time to study the looks of the man she noticed that he was quit a handsome man. Almost a feet taller then herself. Tall in a nice way, not short but not too long either. Dark brown her much like her own and beautiful, hypnotizing eyes. He looked like he worked out, because he seemed the be rather fit and well built. He only seemed troubled, there was a certain confusion or pain in his eyes too.
She held that kind of look herself too if one looked deep enough. So did most of the people she met. Of course a lot of people knew about the supernatural and most learned about it after they had dealt with it. And hunters like herself, from a line of hunters, they hurt too. They lost there loved ones like any other at some point. Kate couldn’t remember a time where she was growing up and didn’t come home to see something bad. There probably wasn’t. It was they family business after all.
She agreed with it and her younger brother hadn’t. That’s how she lost her baby brother. Nothing had ever hurt her more then that and it had been because of being a hunter. But she couldn’t stop now. It was to strongly present in her blood and mind.
Isaac cracked one eye open when he suddenly heard a feminine voice. He looked at the dark-haired woman, giving her an appreciative sweeping gaze that landed on her curvy backside as she made her way around to the back of the machine. He stepped away from it just in time to hear the thump as she hit it hard from behind, and sure enough the Coke he had paid for was dispensed. Isaac raised his eyebrows, clearly impressed as he bent down to retrieve the soda and popped it open. "Isaac," he said to her. "Thanks."
He took a long drink from the can and then let out a heavy sigh... definitely hit the spot. Isaac looked over at Kate, taking a moment to study her face and getting a sinking feeling in his stomach at the realization that he found her attractive. Finding her attractive made it really difficult for him to not want to get to know her... and getting to know her could never lead to something good. The only thing he could hope for would be a one night stand because he just couldn't allow someone to get close... he couldn't risk becoming a danger to another innocent person. "So, I take it you're stayin' at this motel too? Or were you just driving by and decided to take pity on the poor schmuck who couldn't operate a vending machine?" he asked with a charming grin.

“Yeah, I’m staying here too” Kate answered to his question if she had chosen to stay here too. How to drop the hint she liked him without saying so. “But I always stop to help poor smucks too, you know” She said smiling. “I’m staying in room 25 if you need help again” Maybe that was the wrong thing to say. Any normal woman would be crazy to tell a stranger where she would be. And this guy probably thought she was crazy. Well, that or that she was one of those girls that aren’t very picky with their man.
But she wasn’t normal and she could handle herself around demons, so why would she worry about a normal guy. Well, as far as normal goes while looking that attractive. Actually she found herself more and more attracted to this stranger and wondered what kind of guy he would be. She had been attracted to guys before of course, but nothing like this.
Always on the road, she never had been around long enough to built something up or get really attracted to someone. She normally wasn’t very quickly attracted to other people. But there was something special with this guy. She wanted to get to know him better, even if that hope was probably in vain. She wouldn’t be here for long. It never took her long to find a new job.
If she would have to point out what she liked to most about this guy right now, it was probably the way he looked at her. Like he was shy around other people or didn’t have to great of an opinion about himself. She liked the first part, most man she meet where either so full of themselves or acting as pigs.
Isaac, Kate found his name fitting for some reason, was different. She liked how he was far behaved then most people she came across. Though she really liked this guy, she probably shouldn’t bother him much longer.
