Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?

As the purr of his bike slowly came to a halt in front of the store he removed his helmet and took in the sight. It held a rather dank aura about it, probably because it looked skeevy, but than again a lot of places like this look skeevy to Adam. Just something that he isn't entirely attuned to. He couldn't quite imagine himself ever venturing into one leisurely. Not that he wasn't into sex, but most of the stuff he would require is easily found on the internet, as for toys and such. Well, he hasn't even really considered that.
"Let's head in shall we."
Adam looked over towards his companion, she was a bit elegant in her ways so coming to a place like this seemed-- well, out of place. All the same it needed to be done, if Adam's hunch was right they could be well on their way into meeting Eros or they could be well on their way to their deaths. Either way, something as trivial as the idea of a stag shop should be far from Adam's mind. This was just a place.
Upon entering the store behind Ryanne he got a wave of uncomfortable. He wasn't sure if that's how the setup was designed, was to make people feel uncomfortable. Or they just genuinely like their things lit up and displayed.
Adam wandered down the halls behind Ryanne, taking in her expression and the things that seem to be peeking her interest. Subtly behind her, trying to see exactly see what those things would be. For many men in Adam's youth it was still hard to distinguish what woman really wanted in their sex lives, men claim to know and boast about how they know but Adam could hardly take their word for it. If anything was telling, it would be following a woman in a stag shop. At least, it made sense in Adam's head.
"Hello sweetness. What brings a girl like you to my little love shop?"
Adam had been distracted by the product that he did't even notice Ryanne heading towards the counter, it was odd for him to be together in a place like this with someone he's considered a friend but whatever. Though, friend or not he doesn't really like when guys address girls by unwanted pet names, like sweetness. Though despite his thoughts he cautiously approached Ryanne from behind, this guy could be Eros for all they know. Something he didn't want was Ryanne getting--
Ryanne blinked at the term of endearment that fell from his lips before she casually took a step back, not wanting him to directly be in her face, "Umm, I'm alright thank you. I was just making sure somebody was around in case I--we needed help with anything. We'll be sure to grab you though if we find something we like."
She turned around and came nose to chest with Adam and looked up at him briefly before she grabbed his hand and pulled him down a random aisle. An aisle that contained costumes.
The huntress quickly grabbed a random packet and pretended to look at it before she mumbled to Adam, "Do we think this is him? The rogue Angel..cherub thingy? There's definitely something weird going on here but I--"
A movement at the top of the aisle caught her eye and she looked up and smiled at Adam, "I think this is the one, but I need to try it on." She noticed that the odd man was hanging around. "Umm, excuse me? Do you have any policy about trying any of the costumes on?"
The clerk looked over to her and a wide smile stretched across his face, like nothing could have made him happier. Ryanne internally freaked out. "Of course, all customers are allowed to try on costumes. There is a room in the back if you would like to follow me."
Ryanne reluctantly followed him and subtly gestured to Adam for him to follow. There was definitely no way she was going round the back, alone, with that man. No way, no how.
She stopped a short ways behind freaky guy and watched as he pulled back a curtain to reveal a very small crudely put together fitting room.
"Here you are, if you need anything, just call."
The man didn't move and she arched an eyebrow and hoped Adam was still behind her,"I'll get him to call you...Excuse me please." She entered the small cubicle and threw the packet on the floor and spent a couple of minutes pretending to be undressing before she poked head out to Adam, "Could you help me with the zip?"
As soon as he entered she rounded on him and whispered, "I definitely think it's him, it's just the way he acts, it's not normal...well as normal as you could probably find in a place like this." She sighed and ruffled a hand through her hair, "So what's our plan?"
Ryanne's swift movements caught Adam off guard, he was clearly going through the motions in the presence of the lithe young English woman and he was fine with it. Wasn't like this was his first rodeo but it's been his first with a partner, and not just another Hunter who happened to be working the same case. He felt that there was substance between the two when it came to the team work, that there was meaning behind building and working at it. It was probably where this protectiveness he was feeling was coming from, she had been such a good friend over the past day or so that he wasn't going to let some creep at the stag shop make her feel uncomfortable. They were a team.
When dismissing the clerk he found himself almost a little to close to her, but that's what they were emulating here right? Togetherness? Why else would they be in a stag shop anyway? He was immediately surprised when she took his hand and lead him down one of the aisles that contained costumes, his mind couldn't help but wander. Not that he wanted to think poorly of his companion, but he was curiously imagining what Ryanne looked in half of these getups.
"Do we think this is him? The rogue Angel..cherub thingy? There's definitely something weird going on here but I-- I think this is the one, but I need to try it on. Umm, excuse me? Do you have any policy about trying any of the costumes on?"
Adam couldn't even properly answer her question till he grew wide eyed when she immediately grabbed a costume, was she actually going to buy one of these? Not for him right? That thought did nothing but provide a painful wince, but it didn't occur to him at that moment that it was a ploy as the clerk was nearing their location. Guy just didn't seem to take a hint, or perhaps he was catching on.
"Of course, all customers are allowed to try on costumes. There is a room in the back if you would like to follow me."
When gestured to follow, like he even needed to be told, he began tailing behind Ryanne all the while watching her movements and expressions waiting to pick up a signal. The man was clearly more interested in the female variety, which made Ryanne the lead on this. He wasn't sure what this whole costume business was about in the long run, but he wouldn't mind the very sexy leather costume she had snatched.
When they reached their destination he pulled back a curtain to reveal a very crudely put together change room, Adam seemed a little skeptical about it. His first reaction was to look for cameras, lo and behold there was one that seemingly seemed out of shot but one could almost assume they'd still be able to see inside the change room. Of course perverts would be reviewing tapes later of their customers. This really wasn't one of those high end stag shops he was used to back in his home town. They were respectable for what they were, which was saying a lot.
"Here you are, if you need anything, just call."
Again, that day no hint was taken.
"I'll get him to call you...Excuse me please."
After several moments he was beckoned into the change room with her, the man was a fair distance away but still lingering nearby. Adam didn't like it one bit, he couldn't imagine how a cherub could be or act like someone so disgustingly creepy it sends shivers down Adam's own spine.
Once inside he looked Ryanne up and down and was a little disappointed she wasn't actually changing but it's not like she needed to. It was all a cover, though there wasn't an inkling of Adam that didn't want to see her clad in leather or spandex. Rather amusing sex driven costume she had indeed.
"Well," He began responding to her inquisition about some form of plan against the cherub. "He's a little more than creepy, he's suspicious. Of us." Adam began contemplating, if this was a cherub they only had one thing at their disposal. The Blood Seal. It would banish the cherub back to heaven, and hopefully the heavenly garrison will take care of their insubordinate subordinate.
Adam took out a small knife and cut the center of his palm, there was one way they could do this that Adam would think would be mighty clever. He lifted up the back of Ryanne's shirt without even asking and began pressing the warm fluid out of his hand onto her back.
"Sorry, sudden. But it's portable, and he wouldn't see it. It's a Blood Seal, something I picked up. Banishes angels. Let's just pry him for information on these women's souls before we decide to send him off on his heavenly journey."
Once Adam had joined her in the small cubicle, even smaller now he had joined her and didn't miss his surreptitious once over. Ryanne turned slightly to cover her smirk before she composed herself and faced him again.
"Well...He's a little more than creepy, he's suspicious. Of us."
She blinked up at him, processing the words before she realised the seriousness of their situation, "Starting to get suspicious or incredibly suspicious? There's a big difference between the two. One can give us a little time to play around with, the other not much time at all, if any." She wanted to--no, needed to pace but the changing area was just too small. Her gaze had settled on the costume as she thought about what she should do next. Should she go out and confront him straight away? Should she carry on with the charade she has with Adam to try and pry more information?
Her eyes focussed on the object she was staring at and snorted as she noticed the costume she'd picked up, a black cat-suit and froze when she felt the back of her shirt lifted up.
"What are you doing and what is that, that you're putting on me?"
"Sorry, sudden. But it's portable, and he wouldn't see it. It's a Blood Seal, something I picked up. Banishes angels. Let's just pry him for information on these women's souls before we decide to send him off on his heavenly journey."
Ryanne spun around and faced him letting her shirt drop back into its original position. "And what do you propose we say to him, hmm? 'Sorry, but we have reason to believe that you are in fact a cherub and are using a fella to suck out women's souls?' Somehow I don't think that would cut it." She wasn't having a go at him, well she didn't mean to have it sound that way but the situation was entirely too frustrating.
She looked up at him and gave him a small smile before she picked up the costume packet and started to open it, making it look like she had tried it on. "Well, I suppose you're gonna want to stand behind me to hit the button, so to speak."
Ryanne drew back the curtain of the cubicle and stepped outside, the costume swinging in her hand.
"Did it fit okay? Would you like to try on more? We have a wide variety of costumes."
She noticed how his eyes narrowed at both her and Adam and she knew that cherub was onto them. "Look, let's cut to the chase shall we? You know why we're here so why don't you just answer our questions? The first one being why. Why are you taking their souls? You're supposed to make people fall in love, not steal their souls. Also, why are you only focussing on women?"
"And what do you propose we say to him, hmm? 'Sorry, but we have reason to believe that you are in fact a cherub and are using a fella to suck out women's souls?' Somehow I don't think that would cut it."
Adam sort of paused at Ryanne's statement, though harsh she was right but it was all they had. Fighting a cherub wasn't really in neither of their repertoires, angel swords were rare and hard to come by. If you wanted one, then Castiel was usually the guy to talk to if he trusted you well enough with them. It's not like he hands them out like candy on Halloween. Holy oil was immensely rare and difficult to find, even then it's used to hold an angel or heavenly entity, not kill or expel them. The blood sigil and enocian symbols are the only reserves people who aren't as lucky to be in the good graces of Castiel have. It's what they have.
Adam despite concern for removing the cherub from the town, wanted to see if they could at least retrieve the souls of the women as well. Win win, and Adam would really like a win. Especially from something as big as a cherub, it's not everyday you get to take one down because they're usually overly loving beings. Why would you want to squash one? If you could even find one to begin with.
When Ryanne walked out, Adam followed standing close if not right next to her behind her. His chest touching her shoulder is how close he was. He watched thoughtfully as the cherub seemed to be ushering her to try on more outfits, though with a narrow in his eyes that Ryanne caught she spoke up, and called everything out in the open.
"Look, let's cut to the chase shall we? You know why we're here so why don't you just answer our questions? The first one being why. Why are you taking their souls? You're supposed to make people fall in love, not steal their souls. Also, why are you only focussing on women?"
Adam raised his brow, not even thinking about why the cherub was focusing on women but he figured maybe it was just what the cherub wanted or it just happened like that. Choosing one "host" dude so to speak, limits your victim pool to whomever he's attracted to. Which, women obviously. Adam's hand gripped around Ryanne's waist, to the cherub it might seem loving affection but Adam was inching his hand up ready to press the blood sigil if needed.
"You mistaken my targeting of women as hostility towards your gender. I'm an equal opportunist, I fully planned on my next surrogate to be a female that would attract males to her. I make people fall in love, yes, but I also need to make a living and make sure I don't get obliterated when the Apocalypse happens which I think both of you are aware of if you know what I am. Souls will be the new currency of the world when it ends, and I'm investing early the only way I know how. It's not evil is it? I'm just trying to survive." The cherub gave a smile that would seem innocent if not for the intentions behind them, instead it just came off as creepy which made Adam's hand clench tighter around Ryanne. He wasn't all too keen on letting him stay here any longer, he was ready to hit the big red button on Ryanne's back.
"Un-mark the souls' you've claimed and maybe we'll see about letting you live, and trust me we have our ways of killing you." Of course Adam was bluffing about the death part, this thing would only send him back to heaven but at the very least the heavenly garrison will have a few words with him hopefully enough words that keep him from returning and causing the havok he's causing now.
As she stood and faced the demon, her brain was going into over drive, thinking of the different ways that they could escape if they need to as well as think of ways to trap the cherub before he made a run for it.
It was rather an odd situation for them all to be in as it was always assumed that anything remotely related to Angels or God, was something good, however, the cherub in front of them had gone rogue.
Ryanne felt Adam behind her, his chest brushing against the back of her shoulder and she felt comforted in the fact that she wasn't there alone, especially as he seemed to have chosen to focus on women first.
I'm just trying to survive."
As she listened to the cherub, Ryanne jumped slightly as she felt Adam's hand creep around and hold her waist. The skin underneath his hand, warmed slightly and she didn't mind at all.
"It's not the 'end of the world' yet and with me involved, I'll try my damned hardest to not let it happen. You can't go around stealing peoples souls when you aren't even sure it's going to follow through! The souls you've taken, the people they belonged to. They had lives and morals and everything for them has probably just been turned upside down, relationships broken and that's all because of you and your selfishness."
She looked away and was breathing hard, the myriad of emotions she was feeling became prevalent when she couldn't articulate her request, only coming out as stops and starts as if she had a stammer.
Ryanne looked up and when she made eye contact with the cherub, she felt cold. The way that he was looking at her made her feel as if he saw straight through her and felt like her privacy was being invaded. It was only when Adam squeezed her side, that she begun to feel protected and safe.
"Un-mark the souls' you've claimed and maybe we'll see about letting you live, and trust me we have our ways of killing you."
The 'clerk' smirked then and slowly took a couple of steps towards them which had her instinctively tensing and readjusting her stance ready to attack and defend.
"No, no, no, no, no. I don't think so my pets. You see, I don't think you have any idea how to get rid of me, let alone, kill me. You're bluffing." He took another step forward and was an arms length away from Ryanne and the look he had intensified. "Now what's to stop me from taking your soul? Or yours? You're both visitors to the town, nobody knows you came in here because it's early and you're trapped between me and a wall. What are the odds that you can escape?"
The look on his face became more sinister, nothing that should ever grace the features of an Angel or a distant relative and Ryanne kept her eyes locked onto his. Without breaking contact or stride, she slowly brought her hand up to where Adam's was and squeezed it.
To the cherub it looked like it was a movement seeking comfort, drawing from a loved one but Ryanne hoped Adam understood what it was really for.
Perhaps it was a little too soon, perhaps if Adam gave the cherub a little more time he'd come around to their demands. But how hurt would they have to get in the process? He didn't want to see Ryanne subjected to beatings from the cherub, or worse. Something inside of him reacted to his new friend in danger, threatened by a being formerly unmatched in the supernatural world until the angels arrived and the apocalypse stirred things up. His breath grew sharper, as his hand bordered the sigil on her back.
"No, no, no, no, no. I don't think so my pets. You see, I don't think you have any idea how to get rid of me, let alone, kill me. You're bluffing." When he drew closer towards Ryanne, Adam was ready to just reach out and clob him one across the face but that would do very little. Adam wasn't too keen on blowing the cover of the sigil!Ryanne secret weapon. It was odd how defensive he was being. He just didn't want to lose a friend that he just made, perhaps his only friend. "Now what's to stop me from taking your soul? Or yours? You're both visitors to the town, nobody knows you came in here because it's early and you're trapped between me and a wall. What are the odds that you can escape?"
"Do not pass go, do not collect two-hundred dollars." Adam pressed his hand against the sigil on Ryanne's back causing her to glow with intensity as a beam of light emerged, the cherub howled in it's intensity and when the light died down the cherub was no where insight. Flawless, if there was one thing about angel mysticism he appreciated was the consistency of it.
Letting a sigh escape his lips he leaned against the wall, his heart racing from the adrenaline rush from being so close to death and or a marked soul. It was tough to wrap his mind around, cupid was pretty much sullying the whole practice of love making it into something of greed. Dealings of an angel will never make sense to Adam. But if some believe the world is ending, how hard must it be for a mortal like Adam to comprehend even taking part in trying to save it?
"I think we should grab a drink," He reached out and gripped Ryanne by the shoulder to steal her attention. "What do you think?" He gave her a somewhat pained look, he really hope they would exchange information. He would just like someone he could talk to, someone who would listen to him. He was alone, at least until he finds his brothers but even then. She was a friend, and there was very little friends in Adam's life right now.
"Do not pass go, do not collect two-hundred dollars."
As he was speaking, Ryanne felt Adam's hand move under her shirt and hover for a brief moment before it was firmly pushed against the part of her back where the sigil rested.
She didn't know what to expect, being the surface for a blood sigil, something big and extravagant perhaps and incredibly painful. What she did feel, however, was the complete opposite. Yes, they got the big light show that she had to close her eyes against but the feeling in herself was so minute that it was almost non-existent.
A tingling sensation that started in her toes quickly moved up to the rest of her body but it was such a minute feeling, that you could brush it off by having no energy after a vigorous work out. The only time it intensified was very briefly and at the end.
The feeling had subsided and Adam's hand was no longer on her back. Ryanne didn't move, didn't even bother to open her eyes and remained where she was, still seeing spots behind her eyes due to the intensity of the light show and a feeling of disappointment settled over her. Yes they had gotten rid of the rogue Cherub but they hadn't reclaimed the souls he'd already taken and to Ryanne, it was a failure.
"I think we should grab a drink,"
She'd heard what he'd said but her brain was still catching up after being so immersed in disappointment and was startled when his hand landed on her shoulder.
"What do you think?"
"Hmm?"She slowly turned until she was facing him and gave him a blank look until the question sunk in, "Yeah, a drink would be good right now. It's been a surreal couple of days. I never expected a Cherub, a servant of God to be so malicious and self-serving. Even being the surface of a blood sigil was a bit weird."
Ryanne quickly reached into the cubicle and picked up the packaged costume and slowly made her way back to the front of the shop towards the door and dropped the costume on the desk as she passed.
As soon as she exited the shop, she walked leisurely over to her bike and leaned on it and watched Adam, "I think we should head back to the cafe, it's a tad too early for alcohol for me and I could sure use another pile of pancakes. What do you think?"
She straddled her bike and put on her helmet and grinned at her companion through her visor before taking off in the direction of good pancakes.
He saw the disappointment in her eyes, it was hard not to. She obviously cared for the marked souls, however a marked soul was a marked soul-- Wasn't stolen, but it was ripe for the picking however with the cherub gone who was going to reap the benefits of his hard labor? What little Adam knows about anything is that souls are precious, one does not simply take or give one all hunky dory like. In the midst of victory, there was that overwhelming feeling of defeat. That despite slaying the dragon, the princess is still dead. Adam had done a lot of disappointing things since he had left home, let a person or two die on his watch, sleep with a demon, and now sent a cherub back to heaven without saving the souls of his victims. There was no easy bargaining chip they had that would make the cherub give the souls back, Adam needed to worry about more than himself if things went south.
"Yeah, a drink would be good right now. It's been a surreal couple of days. I never expected a Cherub, a servant of God to be so malicious and self-serving. Even being the surface of a blood sigil was a bit weird." Adam listened to her words, as they started leaving the stag shop. He was surprised when she took the costume, even reddened a bit under the exterior of indifferent victory, but only smiled to himself when she left it on the counter. It would have looked good on her no doubt though.
"Sometimes the servants of god seem more malicious than the demons of hell. I think I'm getting that now." Adam moved over to his bike, and listened to Ryanne's proposal for more pancakes, honestly he was stuffed full of the buttered and warm soft goodness. But he couldn't turn down good company. Maybe he'd stuff one or two more pancakes down the cake-hole for the sake of it.
Straddling the bike likewise his companion he turned to see her, watching her grin through the visor of her helmet before she took off. It's nice to see her smile, despite having a so-so victory against the cherub. Last thing Adam wanted was to leave her feeling sour about their time spent on this case, every time she'd think about working with him in the future she'd get that sour feeling. Adam would prefer she didn't. Might be small, but today was still a victory despite the loss.
As they veered towards the direction of pancakes Adam started thinking about the past two days and how the events lead him to sending a cherub back to heaven instead of a demon back to hell. Ironic. Adam's hands white knuckled the throttle, speeding up to catch up to Ryanne's half a minute head start. As he glanced over at his new friend, he was reminded why he was here in the first place, why she was here. Two different reasons. But since getting wrapped up in this case they had a common goal, however it's over now. So now what?
Stopping in front of the cafe, Adam took off his helmet and shook his hair out. Staring blankly ahead but making no move to dismount his bike. Adam still needed to find his brothers, needed to find answers. He was bitter, yet excited at the same time. He wasn't entirely sure how long that would last but he had a goal and he planned on reaching it. Just like how Ryanne would one day find her demon, and get the revenge she deserves.
"I think," Adam paused, still making no move to go into the cafe with Ryanne. "I should go." He really wanted to stay and have pancakes with Ryanne, maybe convince her to hang out in town for a bit, catch a movie, maybe get a little drunk and fool around in the motel and pretend it didn't happen the next day. But Adam felt the urgency of the road calling. He had to answer.
"I still need to find my brothers. You need to find your demon, which I promised I'd help on. So here's my number, call me if you hear anything." He took out a piece of paper, scribbled something down quickly and stretched out his arm towards her. He only hoped he'd receive the same.

With the cafe in sight, Ryanne slowed her bike to a crawl and pulled into vacant parking space. She cut the engine and sat still for a moment, contemplating about what to do and where to go next. There wasn't much more they could do, hell there wasn't anything they could do except to get back on their own paths. It was for the best, she thought, that they go back to what they originally intended, specifically for her. She needed closure but she couldn't risk getting Adam hurt if he decided, to tag a long, or worse, if she asked and he agreed. She just couldn't have that over her head.
When Ryanne heard the familiar rumble of a motorcycle, she dismounted hers and slid the helmet off of her head and propped it on her hip. She looked casual and slipped a smile on her face, hoping that it looked real whilst she waited for Adam to unseat himself.
"I think...I should go."
The fake smile that she'd assumed quickly disappeared, leaving a neutral look upon her face as she gazed upon his figure. She didn't say anything and her poker face was in place, except that a small glimmer of disappointment flickered in her eyes.
"I still need to find my brothers. You need to find your demon, which I promised I'd help on. So here's my number, call me if you hear anything."
Ryanne automatically felt selfish and like she'd been chastised. How could she forget about his brothers? Of course he had another life and, hello! They'd only just met so how could she assume he has obligations to her.
She remained silent as he scribbled his number onto a piece of paper and she eyed the hand that held it curiously. Should she take it? It's not like she isn't capable of taking care of herself but she's been solo for years now and Adam was in dangerous waters, nearly being seen as a friend.
Ry's gaze flicked between his hopeful expression and his hand before she finally reached out to accept the paper. Still, without a word, she withdrew her phone and tapped in his number, saved it and pressed the call button and turned her phone to show him the screen: 'Calling Adam...' She let it ring a couple of times before she hung up again.
"That way, we save paper and you get my number without having spend money or move."
She fell silent again and shoved her phone back into her pocket. The words to say goodbye, no not goodbye but a 'see you later', wouldn't come. Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times before she just shrugged and looked at him.
"Are you sure I can't convince you to have at least a 'farewell coffee' with me as a prelude to watching you ride off into the proverbial sunset before I go my own way?"
His hand held firmly the paper, tighter it seemed his grip took as the seconds passed by. Each second that came to pass she didn't take it, his heart sank a little deeper. His mind raced to the far reaches of the unusual and circumstantial but none of it really mattered the instant her hand snatched it from his. Everything that slowed inside Adam resumed at normal speed, it's as if he had achieved something, gained something. Valuable, heartened, someone he can trust, a friend. In all of this, everything, his mother, his father, his brothers. Monsters, demons, angels, heaven and hell. He had a friend.
After Ryanne seemed to program his number on her phone, Adam felt a vibration in his pocket, a burst of movement then nothing. He smiled a bit, looking at her. She only confirmed that it was her after concluding it was the easiest way to give him her number. It was, Adam just thought she was calling to make sure it was the right one. Somewhere there was an Adam who believed that was the reason, he felt somewhat proud for an unknown reason.
"Are you sure I can't convince you to have at least a 'farewell coffee' with me as a prelude to watching you ride off into the proverbial sunset before I go my own way?"
Adam shook his head, still smiling. Lowering it he looked at the ground, his eyes wandered for some reason to her feet. He couldn't help but let them linger there for a moment. He tripped over those feet and landed in front of her for a greater reason than sheer friendship, the two worked together to take down a rogue cherub and it was a great feat for two young hunters such as themselves.
Something stirred within him, perhaps it was because he felt like this was one of his defining moments; when others look back on Adam's life when he finally kicks the bucket he felt as if this would be one of the moments they reflect upon. He wasn't sure what this moment held, but he would try to make the best of it. He was having an epiphany, or needed one. Perhaps it was something else.
Adam drew closer to Ryanne, and as fast as one could blink he pressed his lips to her's closing his eyes for a mere second before opening them again looking around a bit awkwardly before pulling away stepping back. Clearing his throat, Adam came to realize perhaps that wasn't the defining moment he needed.
"S-sorry. I didn't mean, well I did-- Just that, it felt weird. Not that I'm having second thoughts on girls, it's just you. Not that there is anything wrong with you. I just. It's cheesy kissing the girl and then driving off into the 'proverbial sunset' as you put it. You're already too good of a friend for something that lame." He stuck his tongue out and extended his hand to her, for her to shake or pull in for a hug? Adam didn't know.
All Adam knew at this point was when Ry said her piece, he would grab his bike and head back off onto the open road in search for the Winchesters once more.
Seeing him shake his head had her hope plummeting into nothingness. There was no other way to describe how she was feeling other than sad.
It was now official, Adam Winchester was her friend. They'd exchanged numbers and everything and even though they'd known each other for no more than a day, yet he was the only person, other than her father, that was close to her.
Ryanne was intrigued by his sudden act of silence and was more than amused when she noticed his eyes, not on her face (or chest) but on her feet and a smile tugged at her lips.
Though she showed amusement, Ry was feeling uncomfortable and started to fidget, shuffling from foot to foot and playing with the rings on her fingers.
When she did look up, however, he'd moved and he was slowly getting closer. She had no idea what to make of it and tilted her head slightly, her eyes showing confusion but before a sound could escape, his lips were on hers.
She didn't know what to make of it first but as her eyes closed and she started to return the kiss, he'd pulled back and left her feeling all kinds of awkward.
"S-sorry. I didn't mean, well I did-- Just that, it felt weird. Not that I'm having second thoughts on girls, it's just you. Not that there is anything wrong with you. I just. It's cheesy kissing the girl and then driving off into the 'proverbial sunset' as you put it. You're already too good of a friend for something that lame."
Despite him making her feel awkward, it was all wiped out with his simple explanation and she couldn't help but feel happy and smile at him, so when he stuck his hand out, she approached him in two purposeful steps and knocked it away. Instead she chose to step up on her tip toes and wrap her arms around him, pulling him into a hug.
She gently squeezed him, trying to convey all of the gratitude she felt for him and turned her face to press a gentle kiss to his cheek, "It has been a pleasure meeting you," It only took a second for her to take a few steps backwards away from him and gave him a soft smile, "I...I guess I'll see you around."
Ryanne didn't give him a chance to respond before pushing her way into the cafe. She hated goodbyes and she certainly wasn't going to get all teary eyed in front of someone who is practically a stranger, granted a good looking one but a stranger all the same.
'Besides, I'll probably see him around sometime.'
So it was on that positive note that she smiled to herself and ordered another stack of pancakes to consume before she set off on her own journey.
