Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?

She could do nothing more than stand there in shock whilst Adam brutally assaulted Barry. It was with a wince that she watched Adam bring down the blunt end of the curtain pole onto Barry's nether regions and proceed to muffle his screams before he knocked him out. Ryanne had a feeling that Adam didn't particularly like Barry.
She walked over to the bed and poked Barry hard in the cheek to ensure that he was out cold before she turned to speak to her friend, "You definitely have a way with solving problems, don't you?" Ryanne's left eyebrow rose out of habit and she couldn't help but grin, "At least he's out of the way, huh?"
"Well there, even when he comes to he'll be on the bench for this Eros guy due to his injury. So Eros will have to find someone new or he will be out of commission for awhile, either way it gives us time to investigate into the matter further. However, I think sleep is in order so why don't we head back to the motel room and catch some shut eye. I mean, unless you don't want to actually work this case."
As soon as he'd mentioned sleep, Ryanne felt incredibly tired. She must've been like that for a while but because of frustration and adrenalin, she hadn't noticed. She turned and headed towards the door but froze at his last sentence. Would he really think she'd abandon a case just because it wasn't the guy she was after? Ryanne knew that it was silly of her to assume that her brand new acquaintance would know anything about her. To assume that her new friend would know that she would never let personal reasons stop her from helping others first. But it hurt a little bit to hear the doubt, that she would just bugger off and carry on without looking back at the people that are currently in danger from a Demon/God/Cupid, or whatever the hell it is they're dealing with.
Ryanne turned slightly to look at him over her shoulder, "Oh we're definitely finding this...whatever it is and we are definitely sending it back where it came from, there is no doubt about that." She sucked in a breath before grabbing his arm to drag him with her down the stairs, "But, I completely agree. Catch a few Zs is the best plan. We need to gather ourselves together before we get in any deeper."
The woman hurried down the steps and darted out of the door and walked quickly down the street to re-claim her bike and started the engine. She revved it a couple of times before riding in the direction of Barry's house. She stopped and waited for Adam to climb on, "It's way past our bedtime."
Adam was rather pleased at Ryanne's response about the hunt, she seemed gun ho, which he of course admired. However her resolve about her demon would have to wait, and his promise would not waver, he would help her. No one helped him, not even his absent brothers if they even knew he existed at this point in time. It wasn't a matter of pity, or charity, Ryanne was genuinely becoming someone he could call a friend with the amount of effort and team-work they were putting forth towards each other. If God is a co-pilot to those who seek to break the 66 seals, then Ryanne would be Adam's co-pilot, and at least his co-pilot is probably sexier. Eros was possibly Adam's biggest case so far, this guy was a real player and Adam would be more than happy to claim to be apart of the two-man/woman hunting team that took his womanizing ass down. Cupid or not.
"Yeah well, Barry was being a little obnoxious so he can have a time out," If Ryanne thought Adam didn't like Barry very much she would be right. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. Barry used supernatural forces to manipulate women into sleeping with him, and those whom he slept with lost their souls to him and Eros. How it even worked was beyond Adam, though he didn't find it amusing how proud the man was of himself. The fact that Ryanne was greeted with such a pig instead of her big game was also a factor into why Adam was so peeved with the man, how much of a let down it must have initially been?
The way Ryanne grabbed Adam's arm and lead him out of the house made him believe he was being totted around like a child, or she was laying claim to him like a child would their friend or kindergarten lover. It was rather amusing, and Adam went along with it. Maybe she was too tired to speak the words "follow" and "me" or maybe it was just to hurry things along back to the motel room, she did seem rather tired and Barry probably didn't help none. Not that it made Adam's heart flutter, but it did spark a rather cute raised brow of intrigue.
When she went to go retrieve her bike from down the street Adam waited outside, hand in his pockets and the cool air brushing under his chin on his neck causing him to scrunch it to keep himself warm. Although it was a warm season, the night ended up providing a reasonable chill. Of course, it wasn't going to be any warmer on the bike, only solace remains in the fact that the trip would be rather short back to the motel room.
When she pulled the bike up, she made a quip about their bedtime. He chuckled a bit and mounted the bike behind her and put his hands around her waist. For some reason, it felt a little different doing it now. He felt closer to her since they started interrogating Barry, maybe it was because he went bananas on the creep. He doesn't like showing that he's angry to others, or frustrated, it's kind of embarrassing. Regardless he held tight as they drove back into the direction of the motel.

As soon as she felt Adam's arms around her waist, she set off back to the motel. The journey went smoothly, yet a bit chilly but thankfully, they arrived in no time at all. She quickly shut off the engine and waited for Adam to vacate the seat behind her, before she herself hopped off it.
Ryanne quickly approached the door to her room and unlocked it and when she entered, chucked the keys, both for the room and for her bike, onto the table. Without stopping, she picked up all of the rubbish that was left either by her or Adam as well as piled up the books into different piles, ones of relevance and ones that were no help at all. Ry worked in silence, it was the time to get her brain to calm down and hopefully get rid of the headache and continued to work meticulously. She felt it was better to be organised before hand so that they can get straight into searching and research the next day with out having to waste any more time.
She'd been stooped over the coffee table for at least five minutes piling the books when she stood and stretched her back and omitted a small groan from her lips. Ry let out a yawn and wiped her hand across her face, the day had been stressful and incredibly busy, she hadn't stopped from when she arrived in town and she could feel the fatigue taking its toll on her body.
The woman scooped up some clothes and entered the bathroom to get ready for bed. She was comfortable with Adam but not that comfortable to get undressed infront of him, he was after all still practically a stranger, 'Good job I sleep with a gun under my pillow.' She exited the bathroom fairly quick, dressed in baggy sweats, a mans tshirt and with minty fresh breath.
"Umm, as you can see, I only have one bed and a couch. I would offer to share the bed with you but, it would be weird, don't you think? I mean we have only just met. Not that I let random people I've just met stay in the same room as me, regularly..."
She trailed off and fiddled with the hem of her tshirt as a blush spread across her cheeks. Her left hand came up and pinched the bridge of her nose, she really was tired and her rambling was making her less hardened hunter and more girly. She dropped the clothes she was wearing that day onto a wooden chair and shuffled towards the cupboard, "I think I have a spare blanket in here but you can grab a pillow off of my bed." Blanket in hand she passed it over to Adam and once she was certain he'd sorted himself out she crawled into her bed and snuggled under the covers. A large sigh escaped her as she rolled onto her side, hand tucked under her pillow, near her gun.
"So what's the plan for tomorrow? Asking questions or more reading?" Her voice was muffled and quiet, a reflection of the fatigue. She only caught some of what Adam said before her breathing evened out and sleep took over.
((OOC: I can add more to include the next morning if you want me too because I understand that not much is going on in this post :/... let me know))
Departing from Ryanne's bike he followed her back into the motel room, it wasn't that he wouldn't have willingly gotten one of his own that with everything going on the front desk was closed for the night by the time they got back. He was sure that Ryanne wouldn't subject to Adam sleeping out in the cold, besides if he got sick what help would he have been to the investigation tomorrow anyhow?
When entering the motel room he watched as Ryanne began sorting in a frenzy, he was about to plea for her to get some rest and not bother with such things but he refrained as he noticed a determined sort of frustration about her. He helped in silence, though there wasn't much he could do as it seemed like Ryanne had a set organizational set up in mind. After which, she departed from the bedroom to the bathroom. To be honest, Adam was a little nervous. This was a girl his age, or close to, for once someone his age. He was glad to have made a friend whom had similar interests, or at least a similar life-style, suddenly he felt as if he were in high school again and the nervousness crept in.
They were going to sleep in the same room? What were Adam to do? If she asked for him to sleep in the bed with her, would that come off as skanky? Should he stay away from things like that? What if she were completely embarrassed about it? Should he just do it anyway? And what if she walked out of the bathroom wearing some sort of leather jump suit and cracked a whip? What would he do then?
Run and hide no doubt.
When she did come out he was rather surprised, the frumpy clothing wasn't unbecoming at all and if anything made her cuter. It only made the situation harder, and no that was not a pun. He merely stood there in silence as she spoke. She seemed unsure if it would be weird or not if they slept in the same bed, she asked him if it would be weird. Hell, everything Adam has done in the past couple months have been weird but he wasn't about to suggest they sleep in the same bed because she was unsure about it. Her blush made him smile, he lowered his gaze to stare at the floor before he answered her.
"I don't tend to sleep in the same bed as my friends anyhow, I mean unless there is no other choice but even then it's just sleep. But yes, I would say it was weird." He moved over towards her as she crept towards the cupboard to retrieve a spare blanket, upon receiving it he touched her shoulder a bit and provided a reassuring smile, perhaps his way of saying goodnight without being too formal or too uncomfortably affectionate.
Moving towards her bed he retrieved a spare pillow before moving over to the couch and laying down, spreading the blanket across himself he stared up at the ceiling listening to Ryanne's question if tomorrow would be reading or investigation day. They would need to pull up all the lore on Eros they could find, but the thing with well known named creatures is that there is so much lore that most of it tends to be useless, so going by word of mouth was the best they got.
"We should start with the waitresses at the bar, he was bound to have slept with one of them and it was probably amongst his first targets," Yawning Adam placed his head on his forehead, remained in silence but wasn't aware that after Ryanne had fallen asleep. Several minutes passed before he spoke in a whispered tone.
"It's weird, you're like the only person my age that I've met doing this Hunting thing. It's nice to talk to someone that doesn't treat me like I'm some sort of amateur or that I get in their way, or that they need to show me the ropes and groan about the obligation. I'm glad I met you," Smiling he sat up a bit and leaned over the back of the couch to peer at the bed, tilting his head to the side he realized that the woman had fallen asleep. Chuckling to himself he shook his head. Placing himself back down onto the pillow, he continued to stare up at the ceiling, the darkness and silence washed over him as the sounds and cries of his mother filled his restless mind until the morning broke through the cracks of the curtains.
Silently, Adam smiled laying awake awaiting for the day and the chance to kill Eros.
Ryanne woke the next morning feeling like she had only just fallen asleep. She let cracks of sunlight play through the curtains and stream across her face and arms. She was too comfortable to move just then but when she looked at the clock and saw that it was half seven, she thought she ought to move and wake up her guest.
She threw back her covers and slowly clambered out of her bed, tripping on the covers slightly as they draped onto the floor. She routed around in her bag for some clean clothes then went to lean over the couch and poked Adam on the arm, "Good morning, Sunshine! Rise and shine, it's a brand new day with lots to be getting on with!"With her ultimate morning person, persona, she skipped into the bathroom to take a shower and get dressed.
As soon as the door had been locked, Ryanne groaned and let her head drop against it. She was never a morning person, in fact she was horrendous, much like a bear, but she felt that it would be rude if she swore at Adam and more than likely hit him and on that lovely thought, she stripped off and stepped into the shower.
***
She stepped out of the bathroom, her wet hair thrown up into a messy bun and promptly dumped her dirty clothing into a spare bag. Ryanne looked up and pin pointed ther whereabouts of Adam before letting him know the bathroom was free for him to use if he so wished.
"I was thinking, we could go to that cafe with a couple of books and our laptops and get breakfast. That way we can brush up on our Greek lore before looking for Barry's first victim." She looked down to route for a cigarette. Once she'd found one, a triumphant grin stretched her lips and she looked up once more, "What do you think? Sound like a plan?"
Ryanne was craving a smoke and with a gesture to her cigarette and the door, she made her way outside and leant against the wall as she lit up. Her mind was all over the place with possibilities of Liam, the demon she wants but with some regret, she pushed that to the back of her mind and focussed on what needed to be done that day. Inhaling, she look turned her head to look at both bikes, parked side by side. She had a feeling that Adam's bike wasn't his own because he didn't seem all that confident and when riding, especially the way he sat however, when he was the passenger, he seemed more relaxed and calm.
She'd been in her thoughts for at fifteen minutes. Enough time to finish her cigarette and for Adam to be in and out of the bathroom. Ryanne pushed herself off of the wall and stretched her arms in front of her and yawned before she re-entered her room.
Ryanne grabbed her jacket and phone before picking up a rucksack and slipping in a couple of books and her laptop. She did the bag up after throwing in her purse and plopped down onto Adam's makeshift bed and zipped up her bag to wait for Adam.
As the stars and the moon beamed radiant light through the cheap and rather danky looking plastic blinds throughout the night Adam contemplated ways that would be the easiest to track Eros down, ways that would be of significant help when it came to fighting the greek god, and ways that they would be similar to other creatures he has faced or heard about. The truth was, Adam was no Hunter. Not yet. Right now he was still that young man who was looking for his brothers because his mother was killed by monsters, things were just coming together for him in the Hunter aspect and picking up things from other Hunters along the way would prepare him for the days to come. But Eros?
Eros seemed a little too much to handle for him at this point, this was big game. This was really big game. One thing for sure was, out of all the Hunters he has come across, Ryanne is defiantly the only one who has taught him the importance of friendship, or for someone to have your back. It could be why Sam and Dean had made it so far, unfortunately they have each other and Adam has-- Well, no one. Unless you consider Ryanne. Would Ryanne be the Sam to his Dean or vice versa? That was too oddly complicated and rather disturbing to think about, so he shook that thought out of his head.
Turning on his side he got a better look out the window as the sun was coming up, he closed his eyes as light washed over him and in the instant his eyes were closed he felt a prodding of his arm followed by the enthusiastic morning rant of his companion upon her awakening.
Sitting up he scratched the back of his head just to watch the bathroom door close, once closed he stood up and started gathering his things. He organized his belongings in an articulate fashion, things he would need, things he would want, things that would make the day go by easier. He seemed to be at def-con 5, in the sense that he wasn't acting like a clumsy fool out to get some tail, or play innocent cute newbie. Like he continued to remind himself. Big game.
He was so focused on packing his duffel bag and making sure he strapped some heat that he didn't even glance at Ryanne when she exited the bathroom, he listened to her as she began to speak about the day ahead. "I was thinking, we could go to that cafe with a couple of books and our laptops and get breakfast. That way we can brush up on our Greek lore before looking for Barry's first victim. What do you think? Sound like a plan?"
Adam nodded his head, turning it to the side as if he were going to face her but only turned enough so that she could hear him. "Yeah sounds like a plan, just finishing up here then I'll hop in the shower. Actually--" Turning around once more, the last thing he saw was the front door closing. Rubbing his eyes he clambered over towards the bathroom, closing the door quietly behind him and then locking it.
Upon removing his shirt, the mirror revealed scratches, stitches, and claw marks from the ghouls he encountered that took his mother. Holes that were made by grubby monstrous fingers were still so fresh, yet here he was. Luckily none of these would leave any sizable or mentionable scars but at the beginning of the day he is reminded of his frailty and the disadvantage of inexperience he has. He needed to keep a level head. He can't lose it like he lost it on Barry the night before.
After showering up, Adam slipped on his clothing once more and once the horizon of the collar passed his vision he saw Ryanne standing there asking if he was ready. Nodding his head he slung his duffel bag over his shoulder and headed outside towards his bike. It wasn't really a cherished object, it was a means to an end, a mode of transportation, the easiest thing to take at the time. Though, does it speak at all to why Adam took it instead of anything else?
Seemed like a good idea at the time, one would assume.
Mounting his own bike, slipping on the tinted black helmet he looked towards Ryanne waiting her for her to mount her own. It would be easier for them to carry everything they needed in case a situation would arise where they had to take out a baddie a lot might sooner than one would expect. Adam's heart raced, uncomfortably. He hadn't even started up the bike yet.
Once she was sure her bag was packed, she threw on her jacket and grabbed her helmet before she followed Adam outside. She swung her bag onto her back, put her helmet on and then mounted her bike and peeled out of the motel car park. During the short ride to the café, Ryanne spent the time lost in her thoughts. She thought about Barry and about the Demon/God/ whatever it was. She wondered what would possess a man to do that, was he that insecure in himself and…bodily functions, that he needed to summon a destructive being? Some people and their life choices completely baffle and, in turn, piss Ryanne off completely.
As if on automatic pilot, she pulled her bike into the side of the road and quickly shut it off. She dismounted her bike and pulled off her helmet to prop it underneath her arm. Ryanne hopped onto the path and leaned against her bike whilst she waited for Adam.
She ended up watching a Father and daughter duo through the window of the café. The little girl had pancakes and was squirting syrup everywhere whilst the dad just laughed. A small smile pulled at the corner of her lips, though her eyes were sad. The pair reminded her of her father when she was that age.
When she heard the rumble of another bike, she looked up and smiled before she headed into the café. She stopped to look around and spotted a secluded booth in the corner and made a bee line for it. It was out of the way and they could talk and use their books freely without getting odd glances from other patrons.
Ryanne dropped her bag at the table and quickly divested herself of her jacket and threw it onto the furthest seat and slid herself in after it. She didn’t even pick up a menu and as soon as Adam made an appearance, told him, ”I’m all about the huge stack of pancakes, syrup and a cappuccino with a side order of intensive research. What about you?”
With that said, she turned to her bag and pulled out her books and dropped them onto the table with a thump, in time for a motherly looking waitress to stop at the foot of the booth.
Adam silently sped off on his bike following Ryanne close enough from behind, his hands clenched tightly on the grips as thoughts began rushing through him and out just as fast as he was going passing yellow lines that seemed like blurs. All conscious thought as he sped down the road was just as blurry if not more so. The game they were playing felt dangerous, yet this is what a Hunter goes through every day and the fact of the matter is as his heart raced for the thrill of the hunt more than anything, he quite enjoyed it.
It didn't take them too long to get to the café that will forever be fabled in their meeting if they ever take down a name like Eros. Sure he isn't the baddest ass around, but it should be an honorable mention. There were so many different things that Eros could be, it would be a long day of research and interviews. If it was one thing Adam hated about hunting it was the interviews, asking people questions that were directly involved if they be victims or related to victims somehow. The way they would cry, or go on about something, senseless babble. But it was a Hunter's job to track the things they were hunting and every little bit of information counts. As annoying as that seems.
Dismounting his bike he caught the tail end of Ryanne's lingering stare within the cafe, he wondered what she was looking at but said nothing of the sorts. He was beginning to worry about his new friend, hoping the other night didn't get her down as much. It would be rather unfortunate if it effected her judgement, and made her compulsive. Removing his helmet, he stared into the café himself.
Adam noted a little girl and her father, sitting together eating what seemed to turn out a rather messy breakfast. He smiled fondly, remembering the lunches his mom used to take him on. Diners, fast food restaurants, anything that was near the hospital that they could consume on his mothers break at work. It was a rather hurried meal, but all the same they were enjoyable. They'd laugh, and than fall into silence as she had to return to work. Perhaps they were bitter sweet times, unfortunately they would no longer be any bitter sweet times with his mother. If being a Hunter meant saving that little girl in there from losing her father and living the life of one herself, than Adam was all for it.
When they found their seat in a more secluded area, he sat across from Ryanne and watched her peel off her jacket and immediately went on, ”I’m all about the huge stack of pancakes, syrup and a cappuccino with a side order of intensive research. What about you?”
Adam smiled a bit, looked down at the table they were seated at and said nothing. Taking out the laptop from his bag he opened it up, along with several books he decided would be appropriate to take along. While setting up he heaved a sigh, stopping mid boot of his laptop and looked across the table at Ryanne. There was something about her that felt-- For lack of a better word-- safe. It was that feeling that urged him on this hunt, because for some reason despite the difficultly level being five star he knew everything would be ok if they stuck together.
"Ya know what?" He said with a smirk. "Maybe I'll have the same, that sounds good." He chuckled, when the waitress walked on by he ordered just that. Pancakes sounded really good right now, reminded him of the bitter sweet times he cherishes now and regrets not cherishing before. Life seems like just that, bitter sweet, sometimes more bitter than sweet but it's the little things that you have to remember. Artificial sweetener.
When he didn't reply straight away, Ryanne frowned at the, obvious to her, rudeness. She stared at him a little longer than necessary before she looked away to open a book on all mythology and sort her notepad out.
As she read, her hand remained poised with a pen in order to write anything of importance. She'd only been scanning the pages when something caught her eye and she begun to write in her elegant scrawl,
'*Mischievous God of Love. *Bow and Arrows/Flaming torch *Apparently ?!married?! to Psyche (Goddess of the Soul) * Eros...'
"Ya know what?...Maybe I'll have the same, that sounds good."
As she was in the flow of things, she begun to write what Adam had said, only stopping when he said 'same'. Ryanne lifted her head and grinned at him, "Oh, so you do speak and do have an appetite?"
The huntress capped her pen and pushed her books and notepad to the side as the waitress came back with her cappuccino. "Yeah, pancakes are good. I haven't had them in years so..I thought, why not?" She paused and took a sip of her cappuccino before she looked back over to him, "I've found a couple of things on our God of Love. We're looking for someone with wings, bow and arrow or a flaming torch." Rolling her eyes she looked out of the window "So, we're looking for something that apparently sticks out like a sore thumb. Which means that he will be disguised and most likely look like a 'normal' person....If Barry is telling the truth."
The waitress, came back with their orders and Ryanne dug in, sliding another book in front of her to read whilst she ate. As she flicked through the pages she wondered if they would catch the Demon...God...thing and hoped that Adam had found any information in his books.
He didn't mean to have fallen silent, when he spoke he was shocked that Ryanne mocked him for being quiet. He sort of smirked at her and shook his head, whilst the waitress approached he was eyes deep in a book and tried to order without losing his page. He smiled reassuringly that was not trying to be rude, hopefully the message conveyed.
Ryanne's findings only solidified his own, the way Eros was described it felt as if he were a mix of a demon, a god, and a cherub. If Eros was a cherub, it wouldn't be easy taking him down and the whole flaming bow thing fit like a glove. He was as guilty as O.J. was except this time they'd nail the bastard, if Eros was a cherub and therefore and angel there was only one way of killing him and that way they didn't have. Despite Angel's being a common thing on earth now, it's not like they leave Angel swords just laying about, however they could send the cherub back to heaven which is something Adam doubted that Eros would want.
If Eros was a demon, which Adam didn't find any evidence aside from his mischievous nature and the faint hint of sulfur at Berry's place than the normal procedure would work. However the fact that it was as faint as it was makes Adam believe that it was merely Berry's attempt at summoning demons prior to Eros. As something like Eros should have left a heavier stench, as a demon with his abilities would fall under the Red Eyes category.
In the unfortunate event that Eros was a god they were screwed as they had no identifiable ways of killing him. There wasn't really a how to guide in any of these books, and the closest things to gods Adam has encountered or know of are the angels themselves. So regardless of what Eros is, they are still way over their heads yet they had to prepare for the worst.
"I've narrowed it down to three possibilities, but you won't like them. In order of the least likely, demon, God, cherub. The Roman equivalent of Eros is cupid, which in the equivalent of what we know is a Cherub, which is an Angel. If Eros is indeed a God, we don't have any known ways to kill him so we could potentially be walking to our deaths, and in the unlikely hood that Eros is a demon he'd be close to a Crossroads demon which I've never seen before and I hear are stronger than B.E.D's So either way, we're boned. But, there are ways I know to send Angels back to Heaven, and R.E.D's should be effected in the same ways B.E.D's are which means salt, holy water, and devil's traps should do the trick. Anything you've found that we can use against Eros? In the event of he being a god, we'll need all we can get." Adam silently dug into his pancakes, taking a small bite, following up by a sip of his beverage. His eyes continued to fall on the lines of the book, unable to wrap his mind around the task before them and yet again he becomes riddled with doubt.
"You know, if we do kill Eros I expect some heavy celebrating, drinking, dancing in the motel room, and some possible mindless vandalism."
She swallowed her mouthful and looked around the cafe again and her eyes landed on the father-daughter duo. A small chuckle escaped her as she watched the father fling his little girl over his shoulder.
"I've narrowed it down to three possibilities...."
Ryanne just caught the end of what he said and turned to face him, her mind going straight into business mode. She quickly flipped open her notepad and grabbed her pen, poised to take notes should somthing important or relvent come up.
"...but you won't like them. Anything you've found that we can use against Eros? In the event of he being a god, we'll need all we can get."
Ry's hand flew across the page as she listened to Adam share the information he'd gathered and had already known. Some of it surprising her just a little considering this was one of his first major hunts.
Once he had finished talking, she stayed silent for a few minutes, re-reading her notes and going over what was said, in her head and came up with one plan of action. They were pretty much screwed no matter what Eros turned out to be.
"So I'm thinking, we just find out where this Eros is and go in guns ablazing with an exorcism on our lips and a cut hand ready for a sigil in case it is an angel? If not, in all honesty, I'm out of ideas because this case is so bloody weird." Ryanne let out a sigh and took another bite of her pancakes. "What do you think?" It wasn't normal for Ryanne to be without any ideas but the case had thrown her and her thoughts had been thrown out of sync.
Determining how Ryanne's gun-ho plan would work was a hard one to phantom, on one hand it was all they got but on another it seemed reckless and would probably get them killed. Adam feverishly fumbled with his books closing them and putting them off to the side before rubbing his temples, he needed to think. It was particularly hard to determine where Eros would be, but he was the god of love and where do people in love go? Or plan on having intercourse anyway. Just then, a list started forming in Adam's mind of who Eros was, or at least where he might be. He smiled to himself and looked towards Ryanne.
"Guns, exorcism, and cut hands. Sounds like an emo-music video but it seems like the only plan we got, as for where Eros is I think I might have an idea. For now we eat, save up our energy. Don't think we need those interviews, we can learn all we need to know from Eros once we hunt the bastard down and send him back to wherever he came from." Adam's voice was filled with odd confidence, surely he knew that Eros is big game but the satisfaction of possibly narrowing down his hideout in this town was a victory all of it's own.
After mowing down his mound of pancakes he wiped his mouth with a napkin and sipped his beverage slowly, he pulled out a map of the town and opened his laptop, after entering his encryption he started doing some simple google searches, circling one single location on the map several blocks over. He then pulled out a little black book that had belonged to Berry, placing it on the table he did a couple more searches and plotted addresses down from the book with red dots that all circled the location previously circled. All of them, including the bar were within a two mile radius.
"So I was thinking, where would someone like Eros be hiding. He isn't a vampire so anywhere dark would be out, not a windigo so caves and caverns are out. Where would a God of love, a cupid, or whatever hide out? What place signifies both love and lust?" Adam pointed down at the circled location, then looked back up at Ryanne with a devilish smile.
"Same place Berry got those handcuffs, same place Eros would be hiding out. A stag shop." Adam grinned, feeling a bit proud of himself. He nodded his head towards Ryanne and folded his arms, wondering what she thought of the idea. If this indeed where Eros was, and they have determined what Eros could be, all that was left was putting the thing down and ending this once and for all. He might enjoy Ryanne's company, but there are places they would rather be right now.
Ryanne chewed her way slowly through the rest of her pancakes and kept her attention on Adam. He seemed to be struggling with something which was made even clearer when he pushed his books away and rubbed his temples.
Her head tilted and she opened her mouth to ask him something but she was unable to find the right words and closed her mouth with a quiet snap.
"Guns, exorcism, and cut hands. Sounds like an emo-music video but it seems like the only plan we got, as for where Eros is I think I might have an idea. For now we eat, save up our energy. Don't think we need those interviews, we can learn all we need to know from Eros once we hunt the bastard down and send him back to wherever he came from."
She blinked at him, "Well surely we would need the interviews to find Eros? We can't just assume he will be right outside once we've finished breakfast. Also, we brought books! Maybe we should try them again."
A small frown appeared and Ryanne suddenly felt like a spare part, like she wasn't really needed. It seemed Adam had it all figured out and she felt like she was looking through a fogged up window. She knew what the basics were, but not the details, which she wanted.
Her gaze flicked back to Adam and her nose crinkled in disgust as she watched him practically inhale the last of his pancakes and she coughed to get his attention and glared, "You could do with using some manners." She rolled her eyes and finished off her own pnacakes at a more sedate pace and in a respectable manner whilst he tapped away at his laptop.
Once she'd finished with her panacakes, she stacked her plate ontop of Adam's and sat back. She watched his arms move has his fingers few across the keyboard before she grew bored of waiting and grabbed her pad and started to doodle little images and cartoons. Ry had just added the finishing touches to her vampire when Adam finished typing.
"So I was thinking, where would someone like Eros be hiding. He isn't a vampire so anywhere dark would be out, not a windigo so caves and caverns are out. Where would a God of love, a cupid, or whatever hide out? What place signifies both love and lust?...Same place Berry got those handcuffs, same place Eros would be hiding out. A stag shop."
She stared incredulously at Adam before looking back at the screen, "You're kidding right? I didn't think a small town like this would have one of these shops and I--" The hunter looked up at her companion and narrowed her eyes. "There really is no need to look so smug about it, you know."
She really saw no need to wait around any longer and quickly called the waitress over for the bill. She paid her half and slid her books towards her to put them in a pile before she picked them up. "Come on then, the sooner we get rid of Eros, the better it will be."
Ryanne gave him a grin and waited for him, "This time, you can take the lead and I will go along with whatever you do. I want to see how you fast you think on your feet."
((OOC: I was thinking we should probably wrap this up as fast as we can, which is why I think going directly to Eros would be an easier route. We can make things up as we go, and can discuss what we want him to be on Yahoo ))
Adam raised his brow at Ryanne, she didn't seem all to impressed with his findings or thought it was a ploy to get her into a sex shop. Regardless, god bless America for having it's priorities. What small town can't strive on stag shops and liquor stores? Sure, it was a lucky gamble but there was one so it was worth checking out wasn't it?
Could have been the fact that he devoured his pancakes in excitement, he wasn't one for being stingy when it comes to expression of food. Not like they were even on a date or anything, though he'd have been careful not to eat anything that would otherwise present him as sloppy, at least on the first date. Pancakes would fall under that category. No crying over spilled milk now one would suppose. It's not like he could take it back, though he did return her remark with a rather dapper pat of a napkin on each corner of his mouth.
After paying his half of the bill, he got up and followed her outside. Books under his arm, laptop bag over the other he began strapping them to the various discrete containment units on his bike.
She seemed like she was just as eager to end this as he was, but something about her felt stifled, or perhaps it was just Adam. He didn't particularly like doing this without more experience under his belt, and Ryanne didn't really instill the confidence he needed. Not that it was such a bad thing, but perhaps he would have been more comfortable with someone like twice his age and a beard at least ten times the size of Ryanne's. He smiled at that thought, but doing this was about standing on his own two feet. That much he liked, despite the overwhelming pressure that he and her must both be sharing right now. Eros. It was a pretty big name.
"This time, you can take the lead and I will go along with whatever you do. I want to see how you fast you think on your feet." Oh of course, easy for her to say. Adam felt butterflies bursting through the crevices of his being into his stomach, fluttering about with pestering doubts. If he shall fall or fail, would she get hurt because of his recklessness? He already felt he was being a tad reckless by skipping a step or two in their process.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger one would guess.
"You know, if for some reason we don't make it out alive," He said mounting his bike, taking out a pair of shades to mask the sun beaming down upon his face. "I still hold you responsible for tripping me." He smirked a bit, revved up the engine of the motorcycle and sped towards the only stag shop in town. Nothing impressive, as it was attached to a bigger complex of buildings. Strip mall in a sense, though it pertained black out windows and was mostly used as a video rental place. Should be easy to spot from the road.
By the time Ryanne was outside and had loaded her bags back onto the bike, Adam was on his, engine revving. She blinked at his speediness and dug her keys out of her pocket and started the engine. She quickly sat on it and as she was about to put her helmet on and almost missed his comment.
"You know, if for some reason we don't make it out alive...I still hold you responsible for tripping me."
At first, she just stared at him until she realised what he meant but before she could retort, he'd taken on off. With a quick tug, her helmet was firmly in place and she peeled out of the parking space and chased Adam down. She knew she might have broken the limit slightly, but it was early enough not to have many people notice.
It didn't take her long to spot the shop that Adam was referring to and quickly parked her bike up next to his. She cut the engine and snatched her helmet off of her head. It all seemed to be a big rush now, almost as if there was a big panic to send Eros back to where he belonged.
Without much care for it or if it got stolen, she rested her helmet on the seat of her bike and snatched the keys from the ignition before she rooted around her bag for her gun and tucked it away in the waist band of her jeans, covered by her jacket.
The front of the building she realised when she got a good look at it, wasn't all that special. It had the usual advertisments for x-rated products and it was a fairly small building, something to cater for the kinky ones in a small town.
"Let's head in shall we."
With a quick backwards glance at Adam, she pushed through the door and entered the building. It was incredibly dark inside, lots of LED and neon lights were flashing drawing one's attention to the product beside or below it. She wondered down the aisles, slowly, pretending to take in the items, however the sheer weirdness of some of them, actually snagged her attention. She even picked up a few boxes and films to get a better look before she replaced them.
Ryanne looked around before she spotted him. She gave him a smile and the slightest nod to let him know she was heading towards the counter. Hopefully everything would go without a hitch.
"Hello sweetness. What brings a girl like you to my little love shop?"
She was too close to him and she knew that she had thought good thoughts too soon.
