Evil is What Evil Does(Lilith, Igrat, Lydia, A.J.)
Lilith walked along the sidewalk. Igrat her lieutenant had made contact with Lydia and a friend. Lydia did not tell her who. Igrat was getting everything ready for the meeting. It was to be in a small house that Lilith lived in at the time. The basement to be clear. She was walking her dog. It was a site to see. A little girl walking a rottweiler. Low and behold that big dog was actually possessed as well. Lilith had trapped the spirit of a Hellhound within the dog. An infernal pet completely loyal unto her. She walked down the street towards her small little rancher of a house. Walked over and unhinged the small white picket fence and down the clear path to the door. She opened the door to find one of her guards sleeping at his post. She narrowed her eyes and as if knowing he had been found out stood straight up at attention.
Lilith glared at her guard and walked with her dog who growled at the man as they walked past to the basement door. She turned to the guard "We are expecting company. Do not harass them. Simply point to the basement door. Is that understood? If not I could always get Cuddles to stand with you. He hasn't eaten all day." Lilith giggled as the dog wagged his tail and barked at the guard. He was shaking profusely. Lilith laughed and opened the door to the basement. Cuddles went first and Lilith closed the door behind her.
They went down the stairs and saw Igrat yelling at one of the guards that was down in the basement. It was a large airy room with a door on the far right hand side near the corner. In the center of the room was a bare table one chair larger and more elegantly carved then the others. The chair was to be hers. Within such a small body Lilith had to use other means to show superiority. She walked down and Cuddles wagged his tale and barked at Igrat happily. Lilith smiled at her second "Is everything set? They should be here soon enough correct?"
It had been a long day and a half. It all started when they had awakened in Kansas. Then the phone calls began and she got a lead on how to find this Lydia girl. Ohio. Well, she was excited to see if Cleveland really rocks or not. So far, it hasn't. The long drive coupled with the anxiety of the wait made it near unbearable. Oh, and let us not forget Taylor Swift's greatest hits were playing on EVERY DAMN RADIO STATION! So, AM Radio here we come. She turned it to a solemn sounding man speaking about the King James Bible. She grinned and kept it on. She loved comedy!
"...and that is why we join together each Sunday..." blah, blah blah.
She remembered Lilith smiling with glee at the humor of this act and her excitement at seeing Cuddles again. Truth be told, Igrat was happy, too. She loved that Rotty.
But now, they were back to Lilith's current home. The bumbling fools had allowed an offering to be taken by some random children. The flat obsidian disk, a pentagram carved deeply within. Five rubies had been set at each point. A work of art that radiated with Hellfire.
"You are the most incompetent piece of trash I have ever had the misfortune to meet! Never in all of my decades of serving have I seen such a disregard for duty as I have witnessed. What was running through the molten rock that you call a brain? Fossori!" She was fuming. The eyes of the female guard went wide when she saw the Queen enter. Igrat calmed a bit, picking a sacred tool from the table. It was a simple item, three blades that curved inward, an ironwood pommel. "This grand fool somehow allowed human children to steal the gift. But luckily, they are getting us a new one, right?"
The guard nodded. Fear radiating off of the body. Igrat smiled serenely at the guard, then slammed the tool into her chest. She started speaking in the infernal words of the pit. "Drewst l' quortek dal nindol wael. Ser ol wund nindol xukuth, nindel ol xal tlu natha llieh belbol. A nindol orthae bol, Usstan quarth l' Uoi'nota athiyken."
The item began to glow, black smoke pouring around it. The tool sank deep within the chest of the guard, clamped around the human heart, and pulled the demon's essence into the fleshy gift. There it will stay until they find a use for it, tormented. She savagely pulled the tool from the chest and watched the guard fall. The heart was black, it began to harden into an onyx like stone. It still beat. Slowly. Painfully. "Clean that up," she said to another guard. She looked to her Queen. "I tried to get the word out to them, hopefully they are punctual."
Pilgrim was silent, driving an old red pickup truck with Lydia beside him in the passenger seat. They were staying in an isolated cabin in the woods while he visited his host's family for a few weeks. It wasn't something one would think a demon would do, but Pilgrim was not like most demons.
His game wasn't murder and torture. He didn't want to be famous, infamous, rather. He just wanted to remain on earth entertaining himself. What better way was there to do that than to disguise himself as A.J. Fletcher?
When A.J. had returned the night before, Lydia told him they'd be meeting a few new acquaintances. Apparently they'd tracked her down and gone to a lot of trouble to contact her. He wondered why that was. She was a witch, and had the potential to be a powerful one with a little help, but she wasn't the type join in with someone else unless she got something out of the deal.
Lydia hadn't told him much about the new pals they were meeting today. He wasn't happy about this, but these people were persistant and they might as well get this meeting over with to see what they wanted.
Neither of them had said much since they left the cabin. Lydia had been giving A.J. directions and he'd followed them. Other than that, what was there to talk about? Neither of them knew much about what they were walking into.
A.J. sighed, tired of driving. "Are we getting close yet?" he asked, glancing to Lydia. "I feel like I'm driving around like an idiot."
But no sooner than he let the words fall out of his mouth, A.J. sensed something different in the air. Something powerful.
"Oh, great," he muttered to himself.
There was nothing A.J. liked less than having to deal with something more powerful than he was. And if he could feel this energy before he even got to the place, it was definitely powerful.
Lydia was staring quietly through the windshield as they drove, completely unimpressed by the scenery on the way to their destination. There was no hint of emotion on her face, however, and she barely had said a word so it was impossible to tell just what sort of mood she was in. In truth, she was contemplating whether or not she was wasting her time agreeing to meet this Ingrid or whatever her name was. She had been very cryptic when contacting Lydia, only telling her that her skills were needed and that she could offer something extremely worthwhile in return. Lydia had no idea what this woman had that she would think would interest Lydia, but all she knew was that she better not be wasting her time.
"Are we getting close yet?" he asked, glancing to Lydia. "I feel like I'm driving around like an idiot."
"We'd have been there an hour ago if we had taken my bike," she answered him, unsure of why he opted to drive around in an antique like this truck. She looked down at the paper in her hand, upon which was written instructions to the meeting place, and then glanced out her window, paying more careful attention to the street signs as they passed them.
After a moment, she spoke up. "Okay, turn right at the next one. It should be on the left. 7431."
"We'd have been there an hour ago if we had taken my bike," Lydia said.
"Hey, I'm all for gender equality, but I don't ride bitch on a bike. That's where I draw the line."
Lydia told him to turn right and gave him the address to look for. He took the turn, not at all enthused at having to spend even more time in what he categorized as suburbia. Ranch houses, trimmed lawns, and white picket fences. It was so boring.
As Pilgrim approached the house he sensed that powerful energy more strongly. He pulled into the driveway and put the truck in park, but he sat there for a few seconds before turning off the ignition. He figured it would irritate Lydia for him to hesitate and waste more time, but in the long run it would be better for the both of them if he could figure out what they were walking into.
Keeping his hands on the steering wheel, Pilgrim took a second to focus, letting his eyes go black for a moment as he tried to pinpoint the energy. There was a lot of demonic energy in that house, and not just one demon.
"Right. We're about to walk into some kind of demon convention or something," he muttered to Lydia, letting his eyes go back to normal. "I don't know what you got us into, but I really hope it doesn't get ugly."
He shut off the engine and got out of the car. Once Lydia got out he walked with her to the front door.
"Alright, I guess we... knock," he said with a shrug.
But the door opened before he got the chance and the demon wearing the disguise of a man stood in front of them.
"Heya, Jeeves," Pilgrim said. The guy had the look and posture of some kind of demonic butler.
The guy just pointed inside. Pilgrim looked where he'd pointed and saw a door.
"So... what, we just go in?" he asked.
The guy just kept pointing. Pilgrim looked to Lydia and shrugged.
"Okay, this is beyond shady," he said.
He walked inside with Lydia and headed cautiously to the door, wondering if he should try to knock again. Instead he grinned at Lydia.
"Ladies first," he said.
After all, this was her meeting. He was just tagging along. At least, that's how he saw it.
"Ugh. You're such a girl, A.J.," Lydia said with another roll of her eyes as she grabbed hold of the doorknob, turned it and pushed it open. Screw knocking. The door swung open easily and Lydia raised an eyebrow at the sight of a little girl sitting in a rather ornate chair at a table in an otherwise non-descript room. She saw a woman standing near her and there was someone else bustling about a corpse on the ground. Lydia stepped into the room with confidence, walking over to look down at the deceased guard with interest for a moment before looking up and speaking. "Which one of you is Ingrid or whatever?"
Igrat stood darted a look to the corpse, it wasn't cleaned up, but she felt her guests would not be offended. She swept into a low and respectful bow to the two standing at the entrance and sent her mistress a smile. "I am Igrat. You are the one they call Lydia, I assume?" She turned her full attention onto the female. She hoped she was correct in her assumption. She gestured to the table where two other chairs sat. A hand fell onto the head of the rather large rottweiler and scratched behind his ear. "Please, have a seat."
She stepped to the side of Lilith. She would stand as an honor guard, at the ready, to prevent anything from happening to their guests. The clean up crew had now arrived and begun carrying the corpse upstairs and cleaning the blood from the floor. "Save the blood, and a few of the organs. Cuddles needs more protein," she told one member of the crew. Her eyes then swept to Lilith. "Please, let me introduce my Queen. She is our distinguished host. Lady Lilith." She gestured to her Queen, a smile in place. The staff of the house bent a knee in respect to their Queen's name.
The little girl sat in a large chair. Her feet dangling. Lilith smiled and waved a hand for Cuddles to come over and sit next to her on her left. Igrat then took her place standing next to Lilith. It was an honored position to be at Lilith's right side. Not many stand there for long. She smiled at Lydia and A.J. as Igrat introduced her to them. The staff went to one knee as respect to their dark mistress. "Rise minions. Go about your business. When you leave close the door behind you." Lilith then looked at A.J. he was a demon to be sure. Lydia held fine company if she was bringing a demon with her to meet them.
She had no knowledge of Lydia and she assumed that Lydia had no previous knowledge of her. She had heard of her exploits from a dear friend of hers, and decided she would fit well for the job that she was planning. "Please do sit down. Both of you. It is a pleasure to meet you both." Lilith then looked at A.J. and smiled. Her eyes turning white. "Welcome Pilgrim. I was wondering when I would see you. How long has it been? Truly awhile." Lilith then smiled at Lydia and motioned for Igrat to give Lydia the gift that they had gotten for her.
"Take this as a token of our gratitude for you taking time to see me. I have a business proposition for you that may interest you. It concerns the two hunters Sam and Dean Winchester. Do you know of them?" Lilith giggled a bit. She was truly insane. It was plain to see, but she held herself with dignity even in this tiny body. She would make Lydia an offer too tempting for any dark soul to refuse.
(I'm gonna wait and let Igrat post before I respond... and I'm not clear on exactly what the 'gift' is? Also, do you two have Yahoo! Messenger? If so, I'm there as annalimacpherson ... would be great if the four of us could discuss plots.)
(i dont have yahoo. i have MSN and AIM but no yahoo. Figures. Well Igrat should have a gift for you. Not sure if we got a new one considering our last one was stolen by some kids. We shall see.)
((Sorry its so short, I'm at work and about to leave and I wanted you to know what it was...))
Igrat picked up the sacred tool. A black and hardened heart sat within it. The trapped soul of the impudent and idiotic demon she had punished earlier lay within. She offered both the tool and the heart to Lydia on an emerald green silk pillow. A mahogany box was brought by another guard for it to be kept within. She set it down before her and stepped back. "Six questions it will answer or deeds it will perform for you, or you can keep it to torment." She looked around conspiratorially. "I'd just keep it to torment." She whispered. She then silenced herself. It was one of her favorite hellish tools to use on an insolent creature. The tattered voice of the demon can be heard within calling for it's release.
A.J. followed Lydia down to the basement, not liking this at all. The first thing he noticed was a body on the floor. He looked down on it, his eyebrows slightly creased. He looked up at the two demons in female meat suits, the more powerful of the two in the disguise of a little girl.
Now that's crafty, he thought.
After all, who would suspect a little girl was something evil?
And then he saw the dog. Dogs on their own were bad enough, but this wasn't just a dog. This was a hellhound in disguise. He kept his distance from the group, wondering more and more what kind of game these ladies were planning.
The "child" was silent, observing while the "woman" introduced herself as Igrat. She did the talking and invited him and Lydia to sit down. A.J. remained standing as a group of people came in to dispose of the corpse. A.J. cringed slightly when Igrat instructed them to save some organs for the dog.
And then things got even more disturbing when Igrat introduced the other demon as her Queen, Lilith.
A.J. looked up sharply at the sound of the name. No wonder he'd sensed her power from down the street. A.J. was getting more and more uncomfortable with this meeting by the second. If Lilith had summoned them, it meant she wanted something from them. And when Lilith wanted you to do something, you complied. That was it.
Pilgrim was not the type of demon to bow down to others and take orders. That often got him into trouble and he tried to avoid powerful demons if he could. And now he'd walked right into the home of the most powerful demon he knew of. Well didn't that just figure?
"Welcome Pilgrim," Lilith said with a smile, her eyes turning white. "I was wondering when I would see you. How long has it been? Truly awhile."
Not nearly long enough, he thought.
But he wasn't stupid enough to say that out loud. He simply nodded in a casual greeting.
"Yes it has," he said. "Interesting choice for a disguise."
Lilith offered Lydia a gift, which Igrat presented to her on a green pillow. A.J. took a few steps toward them to peer over Lydia's shoulder at the tool that held a human heart. He sensed a demon, but there were only two in the room other than himself... then he realized the demon was inside the heart.
"Ew. Sucks to be you," he muttered, taking a step back again.
Lilith talked about a 'business proposition' she had for Lydia reguarding Sam and Dean Winchester. The name Winchester was familiar. A.J. had heard about John and his boys through the grapevine, though he'd never met any of them in person.
He nodded in answer to Lilith's question, but didn't say anything, still looking curiously at the tool holding the heart, which was now some poor bastard's prison cell.
He wondered if it was the tool that sucked the demon inside, or something else.
Lilith smiled at Pilgrim as Lydia was given their gift. That little demon had been forced into the heart with her own power. It was an easy task for her. She looked at Lydia "So Lydia. Do you know of Sam and Dean Winchester? If you do you no doubt wish them harm as I do." Lilith couldn't read Lydia very well. She was a very mysterious woman in the fact that her face was always cold, and you couldn't really tell what she was thinking. Pilgrim on the other hand. Lilith knew in hell. He was a low ranking demon with enough competence to get the job done. Possibly both together could aid her in stopping the annoying brothers. Lilith was prepared to offer Lydia much more then the heart, but that would be after she agreed to listen to their plan.
Never give too much. Lilith thought to herself. She waved her hand and Igrat placed the item on the table for Lydia to keep, and walked back to stand to Lilith's right. Lilith glanced around to her precious dog. Cuddles was unique and he sat panting next to Lilith's chair. Eyes black as night and though he looked big and bulky he was faster then any dog. Lilith missed playing with her Hellhounds back in Hell. She seemed to be the only demon that was willing to tame them. Cuddles was a recent addition to Lilith's growing army. She wondered when she would be able to see him in action. She hoped it would be soon.
Lydia sat down in one of the chairs opposite the little girl, raising an eyebrow as some odd-looking contraption was offered to her on a green silk pillow. She was half listening to what this Lilith girl was saying, paying just enough attention that, when asked if she knew Sam and Dean Winchester, she was able to respond, "Sorry, I don't usually stop and ask for their names."
A.J. was standing next to her chair, and she wondered why he didn't sit down. He seemed extremely agitated, and Lydia found this amusing. She wasn't sure what was so nerve-racking about a little girl and a woman, even if they were demons. He muttered his comment about her 'gift' and an eyebrow rose as she stared at it while Igrat explained what the thing was used for.
'Great. So they've given me some decrepid Magic 8-Ball,' she thought to herself, briefly considering telling them that next time, she preferred diamonds... but she decided against it. As much as she'd like to tease A.J. about his obvious unease in this situation, she was intelligent enough to pay attention. If he was afraid, then she knew she probably should be too. But somehow, she found that the fear just wouldn't surface. She felt completely comfortable.
The 'gift' was taken from her and gently placed on the table in its box. Lydia stared at it thoughtfully for a moment and then looked to Lilith. "What is it that you need from me?"

A smile appeared on Lilith's face. Ah a woman all about the business. She knew that Lydia would be one to work with, but she doubted that Lydia understood just how powerful this 'little girl' was. It was obvious though that Pilgrim still remembered who she was. It was quite annoying that one such as him had gone under the radar for so long. Lilith wondered who else had come through to this world without her knowing.
Lilith looked at Lydia. If she didn't know who the Winchesters where she wondered if she had made the right choice in bringing her here. Too late for second thoughts she said to herself. Let us fill this mortal in on her plans and tell them of those two bothersome brothers. "Before I tell you what I am in need of let me tell you a little story." Lilith cleared her throat and smiled at Igrat. They shared a knowing smile then her attention was returned to Lydia "A year ago. Sam Winchester was killed in a competition of sorts made by Azazel. My once master. After his death Dean Winchester made a deal with one of my minions for his soul in turn for Sam being brought back to life. He was given one year then his soul would be mine. I collected that debt after they had tried to get the infamous Colt to stop me. While in Hell Dean was placed on the Rack where my friend Alistair took care of him. After years and years of torture he was released, but in tern had to torture other damned souls. One of those souls was a young woman named Bella Talbot. Another hopeless soul who had made a deal with me."
Lilith sighed and the continued "Then suddenly an angel came and took Dean from me. Pulled him right out of Hell. And ever since then Sam and Dean with their little angel friends have become a real thorn in my side. Together Sam and Dean are nearly unstoppable, but when they are apart they are weak and easily manipulated. I want them separated. And dead. Dead dead dead! But to do this I am in need of special company. One of them being a damned soul that I want returned. I want Bella. The problem is I cannot just open a Devil's Gate and let her out. Their are thousands upon thousands of souls in Hell." Lilith's gaze then turned to Pilgrim "And their is no telling which demon will slip out of the gate. And if they will be loyal unto me."
Lilith's gaze returned to Lydia "So I wish for you to summon Bella. I don't care how you do it. All I need is a young woman of considerable beauty as a host. That is all I ask. I have a lot in store for this Dean Winchester and Bella will want her revenge. Do this for me Lydia and I will give you power like you have yet to see." Lilith's eyes turned white. To show her nobility. Lilith was not sure if the meaning would be lost on Lydia, but she knew it would work on Pilgrim. Maybe getting Lydia to work with her would then in part get Pilgrim to join in. She needed more competent minions other then Igrat around this place. Good help is so hard to find Lilith thought to herself.
