Search engine specialists and webmasters have for long been eager about the launch of the Google Penguin 2.0 update since Google's renowned engineer Matt Cutts first announced that there would be the next generation of Penguin in March. He finally announced that Penguin 2.0 is rolling out on Wednesday, May 22nd 2013 on 'This Week in Google'.

According to Cutts himself, the new generation of Penguin will have a pretty big impact on spam. The algorithms are brand new. While the previous generation of Penguin looked only at the home page of a website, the newer generation will go much deeper, having a big impact on the small things. Cutts also added in a blog that the new rollout is now complete and affects 2.3% of English-U.S. queries to the degree that a regular user might notice while the change has also been rolled out for other languages worldwide. Penguin's scope varies by language, so a language with more web spam will see more impact.

Search engine specialists and top seo are already analyzing the effects of the new Penguin update. The biggest losers by this release are porn sites, game sites, etc. Google is itself analyzing the impact of the fourth generation Penguin release and how it fares on the metrics of search results, search quality and search satisfaction. In case you still se spammy websites in the web search results, Google has asked people to let it know through a doc that Cutts uploaded. You can mention the URL of the spam site, the URL of the search result that demonstrates the problem and ay additional information about the spam results that you want to give.

Penguin's latest update ensures to quite an extent that spam results and bad links are filtered out, which directly affects the rankings of many a website. To avoid this, it is suggested that the SEO experts should use only good, relevant links on a trustworthy source website. The links should be backed up by superior Press Releases to as to avoid coming across as spam. Since back linking is the most effective way to increase the ranking of a website in web search results, having reliable and relevant back links is essential in order to increase the ranking of websites in web search results. The main sufferers here are the websites that appear to be spam links even though they are not. These websites are generally those that have back links all in the wrong places that do not belong to their niche industry or are themselves spam links, and do not have enough relevant content to support their back links.
