The sun tickled her skin and a bright smile spread across her lips. Evan laughed and took of his t-shirt. Hayley smiled and placed the diet soda on the table beside her. The lake caught the reflection from the sun and the water was glimpsing. “Come on, Munchkin” her brother’s voice called, and she smiled as she saw him jump in the water. Everything about her grandparents’ lake house seemed perfect.
Two girls were left. The djinn looked at both of them; one girl nearly dead and the young huntress he caught last night, was really pale. The old abandoned hospital was a great lair, as it had a lot of old hospital beds and other rooms to dump the bodies. The girls’ blood dripped down the IV bag that hung at each bed, the needle was placed in their neck, to get as much blood as possible. The djinn turned around and walked out, he needed to find more victims he could feed from.
It was weird really, like she had a déjà vu, only she remembered herself as being younger. Evan splashed water at her, when she stood on the small wooden bridge and they laughed. She remembered the dress too; it was one of her old dresses from when she was a girl, only now it seemed shorter and it tightened over her chest. Hayley looked at the clear water and smiled as her mom came down with refreshments for them. “Natalie, don’t be afraid of the water.. jump in” she said in a soft voice with the warm and loving smile Hayley remembered from her childhood. She sat down on the bridge and dipped her feet in the cold water.
The blood dripped slowly from the two girls. An hour had passed since the djinn had gone and the blood stream from the first girl had become slow. Finally her body seemed to give in and she let out a soft sigh -she was dead. The eyelids on Hayley twitched a little and for a moment it seemed like she’d wake up.
How on earth had she been lured into the water? Hayley tried to get up, but she had never really understood the entire swimming thing. It was Evan who finally grasped her and pulled her up on the bridge, making sure she got room to breathe. “I’ll teach you how to swim one day, Nelly..” he said and gave her a soft hug before jumping into the water again. Her mother was quick to cover her with a towel and she guided her up to the lake house. Hayley looked at the place.. it was so wonderful to be back, but something was wrong about the place.
From the window a ray of sunlight peeked in. Hayley’s skin was pale and her arms were folded over her chest like a mummy. She was wearing her usual hunter outfit; the slightly baggy pants in army green and her favorite red t-shirt. Her trusty backpack was placed by the hospital bed, as the djinn had little idea what to do with it.
The old abandoned hospital was stone silent as Isaac made his way down one of the many corridors. Even though it was broad daylight outside, the lack of indoor lighting and the closed curtains throughout the building kept it rather dark and gloomy, only serving the purpose of adding to its overall creepiness. This was one of those cases that really got to Isaac... just the overall feeling of illness and disease that seemed to radiate through the place made him feel a little nauseous. But Isaac had been tracking this for nearly a week now, and all clues led here. He knew what he was hunting, and he was prepared.
He shifted the knife coated in lamb's blood in his hand as he braced his back against the wall and peered carefully around the corner. Immediately, his attention was caught by the sight of two figures lying in the beds, but it was impossible to tell from here whether or not either of them were even still alive. Isaac took another hesitant step, his brown eyes scanning the perimeter of the room for any sign of the djinn. When he heard nothing and saw no movement, he rushed over and knelt down by the first girl, frowning when he saw how pale and rigidly still she was. He knew there was no way this girl was still alive, but he pressed two fingers against her throat anyway, just to be sure, a sigh escaping him. This was one of those times when he didn't want to be right.
When he turned to the other girl he couldn't help thinking to himself that with her pale skin and dark hair she reminded him of Snow White after being poisoned by the apple, especially the way she had been posed in the hospital bed. Isaac reached down to check for a pulse as he had done with the other girl, but this time he felt just the faintest hint of a heartbeat, and his eyes widened as he made quick, careful work of pulling out her IV and then scooped her up into his arms. Waking her up and getting her to a hospital... a real hospital... was definitely a priority, but right now they needed to get somewhere safe before the djinn came back. He cradled the pretty brunette close to him as he once again tried to make his way through the hospital corridors without getting caught by the creature.
A sound of footsteps echoed down the hall, as the man carried the young female. However, there was more than one pair of footsteps, implying that the Djinn had returned. The monster had not managed to bring home another girl, so it had to settle for the two remaining victims. The echoing steps from the monster were near the room where the living victims had been kept. At first, it couldn’t see the two females, but as it stepped in, it saw that one of the beds were empty.
Her brother pulled the blanket over her shoulders, and Hayley looked up. “I still have nightmares, you know” she said in a small voice. It didn’t take long for a small frown to find its way to Evan’s face as he answered with a question; “what did you dream about?” he asked and lifted his sister up in his arms and carried her in to the house. Hayley was halfway asleep as she answered, suddenly feeling weaker and beaten up, like it had been more than just a nightmare; “I hunted a Djinn”
“Djinn” she mumbled as the hunter carried her. The word sounded more like a sigh than a word, but the echo cleared it a bit, if he cared to listen. The knife she had brought herself to slay the thing, was someplace in the building where the Djinn had sneaked up on her. Her body was still weak and affected by the poison and reality and hallucination seemed to mix up. ”It’ll be alright, sis. There are no such things as djinns” Evan’s voice reassured her as he carried her. Her eyes were rolled back in her head, as her eyelids opened slightly. A loud sound broke the silence at the hospital, as the Djinn tossed the dead body down from the bed. It was angry.. One of its victims.. No not just one of its victims, the huntress had escaped.
Something was wrong. When spending time with her brother like this, Hayley couldn’t fight the feeling that something was out of place. The day had been perfect, too perfect… Like a dream so perfect that it turned in to a nightmare. Not one time had she argued with her brother, not one time had she seen her father with that dark and distant look he got when he was deep in his own thoughts. Cold chills went down her spine and she tried to remember how the day had started. She had been doing something before, something important… A young girl had been in danger. The girl she remembered had been a few years younger than her, and she had gone missing some days ago.
A weak shiver went through her body. The hallucination that contained her deepest desire had started to wear off a little. Still, she was not able to wake up from the dream, which the Djinn had granted her, though some of her reactions manifested in her physical body. Losing the one girl that tried to kill it, was too much for the Djinn to handle and it walked with heavy steps down the hallway. The female was weak and she couldn’t have gotten far in her condition (not by herself anyways). The Djinn didn’t know that it wasn’t Hayley that had hunted him, for nearly a week, the creature just knew she had showed up in the abandoned hospital with a silver knife covered in lamb blood.
Carrying the pretty brunette while still clutching the knife in his hand was delicate work, and a task made even more difficult when Isaac heard footsteps echoing down the hall. He frowned and ducked into a small room, an old supply closet from the looks of things, carefully bending down to set the girl down, propping her back against the corner. He had heard her whisper as they entered the tiny room, and though normally he might have doubted that she had uttered the word 'djinn', his shifter ears never failed him. He knew what he had heard.
Gently he started to shake her shoulder. "Come on, snap out of it," he whispered loudly, a tone of great urgency in his voice. "I need you to wake up..." He shook her again a bit more firmly, his head snapping around toward the door as the footsteps became increasingly louder, and a shadow befell the crack beneath the door.
Slowly, Isaac rose to his feet, twirling the blade in his hand before gripping the hilt, his dark eyes narrowing. The door slowly started to open, and he raised the knife, ready to strike.
((ugh sorry its so short babe, trying to get my brain back into the swing of things <3))

Hayley’s head dangled slightly as the man shook her.
” Come on, snap out of it. I need you to wake up..."
A male voice whispered and she tried her best to focus on the voice. Slowly she tried to open her eyes. At first she couldn’t see a thing. The room she was in was pitched black and she was dizzy. The stinging pain in her neck reminded her of the girl she had found on the hospital bed, and she figured that she too had been a victim of the entire IV-blood draining thing that the djinn had going on. She saw a silhouette in the room with her - it had to belong to the male voice she had heard.
The man looked like he was preparing for something. Her eyes caught a small ray of light that came from the crack under the door. Suddenly she realized she could hear footsteps and they stopped just outside the door. Hayley had a grim feeling that it was the djinn and she knew she needed to think quick, to figure out a plan. Had this guy any idea what he was up against? Had he a weapon that could kill the monster? She let her hands run over her pockets, trying to find something useful that could help them. It was disappointing really: 50 bucks and her phone, the rest of her stuff was in her backpack. She quickly dialed the number for her brother’s phone, hoping her rescuer hadn’t brought her backpack when he had saved her life.
As the door started to open, Hayley heard the familiar sound of her brother’s ringtone. It sounded like it came from some place down the hospital corridors. The person outside the door stopped and started to walk away, probably searching for the source of the noise. It would only give them a few minutes, but hopefully it would be enough to get out from the place.
Hayley rose from the floor and rested against the wall, still really dizzy. She was glad she had to whisper in this situation, as she doubted she could speak in a normal tone; “I don’t know who you are, or what you’re doing here” she paused for a second to listen to her own voice that sounded strangely weak. “What I do know, is that I’ll need all the help I can get, to get out of here alive” she said and looked at the silhouette before taking some hesitant steps to the door and opened it a bit more to peek out. The hallway was empty and she turned around to look at the man who had saved her life. The little light from the door allowed her to see his face and most of his body. He was tall, but then again, most people were compared to her, and the darkness made his features look defined and strong, but not in a threatening way, more like Batman or some other hero who hid in the darkness. He looked like one of those guys who usually ended up as quarterback of a football team, judging by his wide shoulders.
Her legs were trembling slightly and she used the wall as a support before looking over her shoulder to see if the guy followed. “Please? I could really need some clean clothes and a cheese burger” she whispered, trying to sound stronger by adding a joking sound to her voice.
