Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?
Giving credit where credit is due. A big thank you to all the coders at PBS and various resource sites for any codes, plug-ins and templates.
Thanks to Nick @ Fidelius for the fabulous mini-profile. Everything else was created by our own staff. If we missed someone please let us know.
We don't own Supernatural, we just enjoy it's awesomeness. Thanks Eric Kripke for creating it, all the writers/producers for putting out a great show and the CW for keeping it on the air for almost 10 years now!
Sioux Falls High School Class of 1982. A time of terrible fashion, worse hair but pretty awesome music. The reunion was scheduled to be held the next day in the school's gym, a gym Sidney was all too familiar with. She'd been there not so many years ago herself as a student. Had it been eight years already? Everywhere she looked she could see ghosts of her past, back when things were good and fun and she didn't have a care in the world. Her parents had been alive. She was set to go off to college on a cheerleading and academic scholarship. Life had been so good then.
Not a thing had changed. Not the institutional green colored paint on the cinder block walls or the funny smell of the hallway close to the science lab. Even the library looked exactly the same. She had one day to set up and decorate the food display in the gym for the reunion tomorrow but she had time to stroll down memory lane a bit. The food wouldn't be brought in until an hour prior to the reunion itself.
She paused in front of the trophy display cases that were built into the walls in the front lobby and looked over the ones they had brought home when she was in school, at the photos of the teams and the people she used to know, her hand coming up to touch the glass in bitter sweet memory. Strolling on along the walls she looked at the section dedicated to the Class of '82 to get some ideas for the display. Her eyes drifted over a photo collage that was in a frame, the words 'In Remembrance' above it in large gold letters.
A newspaper clipping was attached as well that spoke of a tragic fire that had taken place on a weekend during detention and how six students had lost their lives as well as the Principal that was leading detention. The only survivor had been a janitor.
It was so sad. Young lives lost before they ever got a chance to live up to any potential. Much like her's could have done that Graduation night eight years ago. She shivered as a cold breeze wafted past her and rubbed her arms before continuing on down the hall, headed back to the gym when she heard voices coming from the library. Were the members of the Reunion Committee here already? She wanted to run some things past them if so. Heading into the library she stopped short as she found it empty and frowned. She knew she'd heard voices. "Hello? Anyone in here?" She felt another chill run through her and backed out of the library warily. Maybe it was just her mind playing tricks on her.
A black car rolled down the street, it was in a good condition in spite some scratches here and there, behind its wheels there was a guy pale faced and annoyed. Who uttered
“A haunted school” - with a harsh voice from the seat of his car.
“A haunted school” he repeated on his mind, and the idea didn't seem any better that what it was to him a few seconds ago, he felt like being in a ridiculous mission. As far as he was able to confirm no one had died since the fire. He sighed, but the psychic from Alabama had said it was vital for him to check it out. He never got around half of the crap that psychics spewed. More often than he would have liked, they had turned information; that was in fact useful. Specially regarding his hunts, so when a strange dude that had earned his credibility muttered some ominous threat, that awarded his attention, he was partially compelled to listen.
Nevertheless he couldn't help but to feel cheated for having done so. He rubbed the back of his neck and looked at the sketch sitting on the dashboard, the building should be a few blocks from where he was. He took a deep breath, arched his shoulders and tried to focus on the task at hand: gathering information. He wasn't going cold, for the looks of it there was some high school reunion thing. He could easily slip as one of the non-attendant as some poor kid whose high school's years are better left forgotten. After a few minutes he finally had located the edifice, it looked like one of those regular high school places, there was nothing to its look. But not all haunted places abandoned and run down structures.
He pulled over near the school, stepped out of the car towards the main entrance, today he was just scouting the place. He always felt more comfortable knowing his bearings and he was in luck too, as the main door was unlocked. He brought out a Electromagnetic Field detector from his pocket and kept it within his sight as he began walking through the hall, it was important to him to pin point the source of the haunting.
He was walking around completely confident while inspecting the classrooms and hallways. He ducked out of sight as soon as he heard footsteps, decidedly he followed the sound. Until he was led near to the library, his EMF reader went wild, as he suddenly heard a girly voice that said:
"Hello? Anyone in here?" - with a percetible pitch of fear.
For a moment there he froze at the thought of being found, until he calmed down and realised that there was a young woman peeking at the library door and not in his direction. He repressed the urge to scare her and he choosed to retreat down the hallway to think on his next move. It was not like he could back down now that someone else was involved, which meant that he couldn't wait until tomorrow, he brushed his hair back mad at himself while he walked away. He had to go get the shot gun just in case things got hairy.
At first, Sioux Falls had seemed boring. Being cooped up in a motel room with her brother wasn’t Grace’s idea of fun most of the time. Stumbling onto a high school with an interesting history had given her something to do. A fire had killed several people years ago and since then some oddly coincidental disappearances had occurred. It just so happened Sioux Falls High was having a reunion, giving her a perfect opportunity to do a little recon.
She’d thought about bringing the potential case to Isaac, but quickly decided against it. He’d already been slightly over-protective to begin with. After what happened in New Hampshire, there was no way he’d let her anywhere near an actual hunt anytime soon. If she’d brought him the case he would’ve either taken care of it himself without her, or maybe let her tag along only to make her wait in the car.
It was a miracle she’d gotten him to lend her the car. She was horrible at lying to her brother, but she’d managed to pull it off, saying she was going to catch a movie and maybe get something to eat after. He’d seemed grateful for a little time to himself. As Grace pulled into the parking lot and found a space, she couldn’t help feeling a little guilty. Maybe she should call Isaac and tell him the truth. She talked herself out of that thought immediately. He’d totally freak out and he’d never let her take the car alone again.
Grace grabbed her back pack out of the back seat and headed into the building. She didn’t have much for supplies. Just the basic ghost hunting gear: an iron bar Isaac had yanked off a run-down fence, plenty of salt, a bit of holy water in case of demons, a silver knife for general self-defense, a flashlight, and her laptop. She felt fairly confident. After all, there was a chance she wouldn’t find anything and all the preparation would be for nothing.
As Grace walked down one of the school’s many hallways, she heard a female voice up ahead.
“Hello? Anyone here?”
Grace stopped walking, standing frozen for a moment. Should she hide? No. That was ridiculous. She could easily pass for a high school student, and she did have a back pack. If anyone asked she could say she’d stayed after for some activity. She continued down the hall as she saw a girl backing out of a room up ahead.
“Hey!” she called.
She stopped a few feet in front of the blonde.
Now what?
