SU 2 Applications and Site Canons

Hey guys! SU 2 isn’t quite open yet, but we’re at the point where it will be very soon. So, awesome SU members, if you’re planning on taking any of your current characters over to SU 2, you can register accounts for them over there and start submitting applications. We tried to make the SU 2 application pretty similar to the SU application so you should be able to copy/paste most of the information from your already completed SU bio. to the SU 2 application. But, remember to bridge the gap between 2009/10 and 2014 in your character history and to account for any changes that may have occurred during that time in the rest of the application.

This does NOT give you a license to totally re-do your character. If you’re carrying a character over from SU, they should still be basically the same. If you want to change a character’s abilities/powers or species, please PM us or something and let us know what you have in mind and how that change would have come about BEFORE you make a new application for them.

You may be wondering what the line between an okay change and a too-far change is. Well, here are a few examples:

My character A.J. is undergoing a few changes between SU and SU 2. On SU, A.J. is currently possessed by the demon Pilgrim and Pilgrim has some nifty demonic abilities. However, on SU 2, A.J. will have gotten rid of Pilgrim and be human. He’ll be lacking in any abilities Pilgrim used while riding around in his skin, and his species will be changed. But, the character of non-possessed A.J., which is outlined in his SU bio. right alongside Pilgrim, will be the same. If I weren’t an admin, I would’ve had to run this by an admin, but it’s perfectly reasonable and acceptable.

However, if I were to bring Greg over and suddenly his dad was alive and well, he didn’t have a brother, and had never met Annali or Jo… that’s an overhaul and I might as well make a new character. Another example, on SU my character Sofia has a very small amount of clairvoyance, I guess you’d call it, where she can sense when a spirit is present and, if she wanted to, she could communicate with the dead. However, she’s not aware of this ability and has not developed it. If I brought her over to SU 2 and she was now a bit of a medium, that wouldn’t be a total stretch. However, if she was a medium, had telekenisis, and was a telepath, that’d be a little unreasonable.

So, basically, don’t overhaul your character completely and don’t try to give them additional abilities that are out of the realm of possibility. If you’re not sure if changes you want to make are going to fly or not, let us know what you have in mind and we’ll let you know.

Please don’t apply for brand new characters over there yet. We know a lot of you are already working on SU 2 versions of your current characters, so we figured we might as well let you post them over there before we open officially. That way we can go through the approval process and by the time we’re ready to go you guys can jump right in. Once we open, you’ll be able to apply for new characters if you want. We just want to get the veteran characters up there first.

Also, a lot of you have been asking about the horsemen and archangels and expressed interest in playing them. The thing with those characters is that they’re very powerful and we were originally planning on NPC’ing them as plot devices. They aren’t meant to be full-fledged characters running around all the time actively posting and doing all-powerful things. They’re supposed to be forces at work in the background that pop up for certain plots. We are going to open them for play, but we don’t want them played like regular full-time characters. We are also going to be picky about how they’re played.

Sam and I are going to control them for the beginning while we’re all getting settled, maybe use them for a few opening plots or something, so no one will be able to pick them up right away. But we’d like to know who’s interested in playing who. In addition to the horsemen and the archangels, we also have two elementals who would be on an equal or pretty close to equal power level.

The Archangels

Job: Head archangel and commander; the most powerful of all the archangels, rivaled only by Lucifer.

Job: Protector of prophets, known as “The Might of God” and the communicator.

Raphael
Job: The Patron of Travelers, a healer; helps with spiritual journeys.

Job: The Angel of Death and separator of souls.
Faceclaim: Jason Statham

Elementals
Note: These ones are supposed to be neutral and mediate between good and evil, so although they are powerful they shouldn’t be doing anything large scale like the horsemen and archangels would be. Also, the elementals may be played on a more regular basis than the archangels and the horsemen, but don’t need to be.

Note: All faceclaims are negotiable on some level, but we picked the ones we did for a reason, so you’d have to make a really good argument to change them.

Also, there are two other elementals, Lachlan and Aedan, but Lachlan is my character and fully developed, so he is not up for adoption, and Jo has dibs on Aedan, so you’d have to talk to her if you wanted to try to take that character.

Now, the way we’re going to do this is see who’s interested in playing who and have everyone submit a mini-bio. for the character, then set up a special board for people to do a trial thread as that character. We’ll give you more information on that when we’re ready to have people start auditioning, so for now, just tell us who you’re interested in playing and we’ll go from there.

If you are interested in playing more than one. Please make a list in order of preference. Meaning, the one you would like to play the most at the top. Please do not send us something that just says, "any available" or any similar statement. That does not help us.

SU2 isn't open yet. Currently only members of this website SU are making applications to carry their current characters over. However if you'd like to apply here you are more than welcome. Read through the rules and the start up and if you have any questions feel free to ask an admin or a mod!
