Welcome to SU: Legacy, a next-gen Supernatural RP that takes place in the year 2040. The Men of Letters has expanded to include three base locations across the continental US. Angels and demons have gone mostly dormant but there are still supernatural evils lurking in the shadows. The legacies could use your help. Are you in?
Giving credit where credit is due. A big thank you to all the coders at PBS and various resource sites for any codes, plug-ins and templates.
Thanks to Nick @ Fidelius for the fabulous mini-profile. Everything else was created by our own staff. If we missed someone please let us know.
We don't own Supernatural, we just enjoy it's awesomeness. Thanks Eric Kripke for creating it, all the writers/producers for putting out a great show and the CW for keeping it on the air for almost 10 years now!

Annali giggled, her eyes lighting up with laughter as she rolled onto her side and, inadvertently, moved a bit closer to him so that she was resting her hand on his arm. "You're so funny, Dean," she said with a sigh as her laughter died down. She settled against her pillow comfortably, breathing deep and taking in the lavendar and vanilla scent of the fabric softener. The smile remained on her face as she stared at him... exhaustion taking a huge part in Annali allowing her eyes to linger on Dean's handsome face longer than usual. If she had been more alert, she would have looked away long ago.
"So what do you think is going to happen tomorrow?" she asked him, absently rubbing her index finger in small circles around a freckle on his arm. She was staring at it blankly, and the faraway look in her blue eyes gave further indication that her mind was on something else entirely. "I mean... you do think we're going to get out of this, right?"

Dean rolled his head on the pillow so that he was still lying on his back, but looking over at Li. He loved how her eyes lit up when she laughed and it made him chuckle too to hear her do it. It all felt so...normal. So right and easy that he wondered if this was how life was for regular folk who didn't chase monsters in the dark or hunt ghosts for a living. Was this how it was for Sam back at Stanford, him and Jess talking late, laid next to each other as though the rest of the world didn't exist?
In that moment he realised how tough it must have been for Sam to give his normal life up and return to hunting again. Though old Yellow Eyes hadn't really given him much choice. He'd taken everything Sam had away, inlcuding Jess. Perhaps it was easy to leave after that because there was nothing left to stay for.
"So what do you think is going to happen tomorrow...I mean... you do think we're going to get out of this, right?"
"Of course we're going to get out of this." Dean replied reassuringly, giving her his trademark cocky smirk. "You're dealing with Winchesters baby, and if there's one thing we know how to do, it's getting out of the trouble we get into!"
All except for that one tiny little deal that resulted in me going to Hell....

Dean's enthusiastic response brought Annali out of her little trance, and she let her fingers rest gently on his bicep as she looked up and met his gaze, and her lips spread into a wide grin. "You make it sound like you get in trouble quite often," she teased him. She thought it was adorable the way his skin crinkled at the corners of his eyes when he smiled. Though 'crow's feet' were usually looked upon negatively, as a sign of aging... to Annali it just helped to show how much character that he had. Besides, to her, a man who looked as though he had a bit of experience was quite a bit more attractive than one with baby-smooth skin that looked fresh out of high school.
"I hope you're right anyway. I mean... not that you aren't... you know... not that I'm not enj--" She paused and bit her lip, trying to think of a way to word her thoughts and realizing that there really wasn't a way that wasn't potentially inappropriate or embarrassing. "It's just... Um..." Annali blushed and shifted her gaze away from him a moment, took a deep breath, and looked back at his gorgeous hazel-green eyes, continuing in a soft voice, "I'm really enjoying your company."
There. That wasn't too difficult. Just a compliment... just a compliment...

"You make it sound like you get in trouble quite often,"
"Occupational hazzard." Dean chuckled. If only you knew how crazy our lives where everyday...
"I'm really enjoying your company."
As unexpected as that was, Dean replied smoothly, a genuinely sincere tone in his voice.
"I'm really enjoying yours too."
He couldn't remember the last time he'd been this honest with a woman. With anyone in fact, other than Sam or maybe Bobby. Still, even with the people he regarded as his only family, he felt the need to shelter them from the truth. He'd not told Sam everything about Hell and if he could help it, he wasn't ever going to. The little meltdown he'd had after the whole thing with Anna getting her grace back, he promised himself he wasn't going to do that again in front of Sam. It didn't make either of them feel any better, only opened up a big damn can of worms that he couldn't find the lid for again.
With Annali, he didn't expect the subject of Hell would come up, but he did feel like he could talk about everything else with her. She seemed fascinated by his old tales of past hunts and he really didn't mind retelling them, especially when they made him sound more like the hero he used to be, not the weak and broken shell of a man he was now. In truth, she made him feel more human than he had done in a very long time and he couldn't deny it was a good feeling.

The feeling of relief that washed over Annali when he returned her sentiment was so strong that she couldn't have put it into words even if she had tried. And she could tell that he meant it too... and wasn't just repeating her words to keep her from feeling like an idiot. There was an honesty in his eyes... a calm tone to his voice that told her he felt as completely relaxed with her as she felt with him. She smiled slowly at him, her eyelids growing slightly heavy.
Speaking of being relaxed... the late hour and the stress of the day was really starting to wear on her. Annali felt a yawn coming on and quickly moved her hand in front of her mouth to cover it. "I guess the smart thing for us to do would be to get some rest huh?" she muttered idly, not taking her eyes off of him. Even though the evening had gotten off to a rather rough start, she found now that she was in no hurry for it to end. She even found that having Dean so close made her feel safe... she had been used to living alone for so long and hadn't thought much of it before now. She reckoned that she could live through many more nights like this and not be heartbroken over it... but during the day the curse was a serious obstacle.

"Oh, sorry. I'm keeping you up aren't I?" Dean mutttered apologeticallly, giving her a rueful half smile. No doubt she was more used to getting to bed at a sensible hour, sleeping peacefully without interuption and waking early to get to school before the children.
"You can totally tell me to shut up by the way. I know I look sensitive and easy to offend, but I can take it." He chuckled, rubbing at his tired eyes too. Underneath all his misdirecting light-heartedness, he was absolutely exhausted but it was automatic to keep it hidden and carry on regardless so he'd not really thought about it until now.
"I'm used to being up this late, it's kinda a job requirement most of the time but yeah, you should try and get some sleep. I think it's gonna be a long day tomorrow."

Annali covered her mouth again as she yawned. Her eyes fluttered closed and a sleepy smile played on her lips. "If I wanted you to shut up I would have put you in Time Out in the corner," she said with a soft giggle. She completely dreaded going to sleep and the only thing that kept her from prying her eyes open with toothpicks just so she could listen to him a bit longer was the promise that he would still be there tomorrow.
"You should get some sleep too, you know," she said with a soft sigh as her body visibly relaxed and she settled comfortably into the mattress. Annali had moved close to him in the process and her fingers rested lightly on his arm... just a gentle touch and nothing too invasive or suggestive. It was amazing how much her life had changed in the past two days and his presence was one of the only things about it that had been good. "Sweet dreams, Dean..." she whispered just before dozing off to sleep.

"Time out in the corner? Wow, you're harsh." Dean's smirk turned into a yawn as he infectiously caught the tail end of Annali's sleepy action.
"You should get some sleep too, you know,"
"Yeah..." He let his broad shoulders sink deeper into the mattress, his head nuzzling the pillow for a moment until he found the softest spot to inhabit. Letting out a long, yet relaxed breath, he left off closing his eyes until he couldn't keep them open any longer, his gaze fixed on Annali as she murmered sleepily to him.
"Sweet dreams, Dean..."
If only wishing would make it so...
"You too Li."
