So there was an Adam Winchester and a Dean Winchester who, going off the tough woman’s response to his name, was probably a bit of a dick. Neither one sounded at all like they‘d been to Chet‘s bookstore though. Frustratingly it was on the tip of his tongue and he had a feeling the Winchester he’d heard of had a name beginning with an S.

Steve maybe? Saul? It was definitely a short name…

Coming to the conclusion it wasn’t important at the present time, Brody stopped pondering names and remembered that his priority here was not to die. However, Adam’s next statement pretty much nullified that idea.

“Seem's like the common denominator here is Hunter.“

What.

He felt himself take a tiny step back as Adam continued to talk, the cold ball of scary dread in his stomach bouncing around now, trying to get his attention and practically screaming ‘now you know you’re screwed!’.

“So we're we're all Hunters or know of the existence of the Supernatural at the very least, I hope. I'm guessing we were all looking into the same thing? End up being dragged in? That about sums it up?"

“Whoa, wait. Uh, no.” Brody raised his hand like a kid in class who was worried that he had the wrong answer. What he knew of hunters was fairly limited, stories told by Chet on boring rainy days designed, he assumed, to warn him off getting involved with that, slightly unbalanced, community. Chet didn’t have anything against them per say, but obviously they attracted danger like dumpster’s attract flies and Brody was quite happy to not involve himself in their world. Trouble was, circumstances kept dragging him that way whether he liked it or not.

“I’m not a hunter. Like, really not. I feel bad when I see road kill, so…” all eyes on him were not helping his self conscious ramble, “…I’ve never even fired a gun! The closest I’ve been to the supernatural was reading a couple of crappy Carver Edlund paperbacks, which really isn’t the same league that you all seem to be in.”

Technically he was lying, but getting chased around a store by black eyed people and going to a creepy mansion that had vampires in the dining room was only going to make him look suspicious. Not to mention the stigmata. Yeah, that was a fairly large piece of information that he didn’t want to share. It wasn’t relevant and if he could get out of this prison without having any symptoms, then they need never know.

“Last thing I remember before I woke up in my cell, I was just coming back from grocery shopping. Pretty sure someone hit me on the back of the head and that’s all." He paused, thinking back for a second. "I may have squashed the doughnuts when I fell on them... anyway, my point is, I’m just a regular guy. Whoever’s brought us here, if they think I’m a hunter, then it’s a case of mistaken identity.”

His explanation seemed to go down okay, or it did at least with Adam who was already taking charge, suggesting how they could escape. Brody might have been the oldest person in the room, but he was highly unqualified to be taking charge of anything, so if the kid wanted to lead - so long as he didn’t lead them further into trouble, then that was fine with him.

“Yeah, okay. I like his plan. Getting out sounds good.” Then as an after thought, he figured he’d even the ground a bit and give them his name too. “I’m Brody by the way." He almost held out his hand for Adam to shake, but at the last minute he changed his mind and nodded at the man instead, tucking his gloved hands under his armpits as though he were merely trying to keep them warm. Corrine’s concern that there was someone in the darkness was making him jumpy anyway, they probably wouldn’t notice he was trying to hide anything.

"Uh, sorry about," he made a rough gesture to the tough woman about their little run in. He didn't want her to be pissed at him if they were all going to team up and find a way out.

"Little bit freaked, y'know? It's dark in here..."

Sully looked Adam up and down. He was lucky if he was even twenty. If he had been hunting she didn’t figure that he’d been doing for it very long. The girl beside him didn’t look much older. Then there was the stinky homeless guy, who apparently wasn’t a hunter. This situation was not to her liking at all.

"So, let's not stand around and wait for whatever it is come after us. Let's keep moving, maybe get out of the isolation area into the main containment center, can probably find the exit from there-- Though I have a feeling it won't be that easy. So for now, let's be all civil like and get the hell outta here."

“Get out of here?” Sully raised a brow. “First of all we don’t know where here is. We could be walking out directly into the middle of snow covered wilderness in Alaska for all we know. Not to mention the fact that there’s obviously something shady go on here.” She gestured to all the cell doors. “There could be other people here, and something tells me whoever is running this show isn’t just going to up and let them leave.

“Not to mention the fact that our cell doors just magically opened. You don’t really think that was an accident do you?” She shook her head and looked up at the walls and ceiling, searching. “I have no doubt their watching and listening to us right now.”

The homeless guy introduced himself as Brody and then apologized for running into her. Sully wasn’t paying attention to that though. She was trying to get her bearings. She was hungry and tired. There was no telling where they were or how close outside help was. There was also no telling how many more people were trapped in this labyrinth like hell.

Sully turned back to the group she gestured for everyone to move closer. Maybe she was being paranoid, but she didn’t want her captors to hear what she had to say. When everyone was in the tight huddle she whispered, “Whoevers behind this is playing games. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I haven’t had food or water for two days. Sleep hasn’t exactly been easy, which means I’m hungry, dehydrated, and not on top of my game. Which is exactly what our captors want.” Lowering her voice even more, Sully continued. “Heading for the exits is what they’re expecting us to do. We need to do the unexpected. Go after whoever it was that locked us up.”

And then possibly kill them. Sully didn’t say that out loud. She didn’t know these people and she’s wasn’t sure how willing they were to go through with this plan. Hunters or not, none of them really stood out to her as the kick ass and take names later kind of crowd. Adam seemed to still have some innocence in his eyes, Corinne was the same. The homeless guy didn’t look innocent, but she figured that he wasn’t the most courageous guy in the world.

"Little bit freaked, y'know? It's dark in here..."

Sully sighed. Yeah, this was going to be fun.

“I’m not a hunter. Like, really not. I feel bad when I see road kill, so…” So shit. So not only did they have to worry about whatever the hell was out there, the thing or things that had trapped them, but they had to worry about this man. Cori was never good with be the baby sitting type. She would rather dump a kid at a McDonald's than drag them around with her. When she'd been younger, fourteen or so, she thought it would be helpful is she job a job. After all, her grandfather mostly did jobs that didn't pay a lot. She hated him, but he kept the roof over her head and the clothes on her back. She owed him. On her first night of watching this little kid, she mostly played nice, even though he was a total brat. The boy seemed to think the whole world revolved around him. He ordered her around like she was his personal slave. On the fourth night Cori snapped. She slapped the kid across the face, took an expensive looking vase from the shelf and walk out. She lacked patience. And the motherly instinct.

“Yeah, okay. I like his plan. Getting out sounds good.” She looked around at their surroundings. Darkness, tall cement walls, jail cells. It wasn't really like they could break a window and crawl out one of those. Cori took a small step back and turned her head to the right, peering into one of the cells. No windows there either. She frowned, feeling foolish, and mostly annoyed. At least if there were windows with bars over them, there would be some chance to break out. Stepping forward and snapping the gaze of her green eyes back up to the group of people. There were four of them. The scruffy, frightened man. He appeared to look like a gruff, hobo, but he seemed more scared than anything. Next was the tough woman. She looked like she hated most everyone. And then there was Adam; her booty call. She trusted him most out of everybody.

“First of all we don’t know where here is. We could be walking out directly into the middle of snow covered wilderness in Alaska for all we know. Well, someone was certainly in a mood. Tough woman seemed to like bitching, and looking harsh. Cori held back the urge to roll her eyes. So much drama. Yeah, they were trapped here in this prison like structure. They didn't know where they were, or where they were trying to go to. She did have a point that no one knew what was beyond these walls, but she didn't need to be snarky about it. Maybe it was just because Cori was relieved to be out of that cell, but she felt...Okay. Like there was hope to get out of here now. Was that dumb of her? Yeah, a little. But there had to be the grumpy people and there had to be the nicer people. Everyone had a role to play.

"Not that I really like the idea of splitting up, but we can get more done that way." She shrugged a bit, before speaking again. "Two of us can go look for anyone else that's still trapped. The other two can try to find away out of this hell hole." The horror movies always made it seem that if everyone went there separate ways, you got picked off and killed. But this was real life and they were hunters, or at least some of them were. Cori looked at the other woman. She appeared like she could hold her own. Adam, she knew, could hunt. He hadn't been doing it forever, but he wasn't an idiot. Brody, that was the other guys name. He wasn't a hunter. He didn't look like he could harm a fly. But, you never really knew about people until you saw what they could do.

When the other woman motioned for them to lean in close, Cor did as she was asked. Moving in, she listened to the other woman speak. Going straight for the exits was what their captures wanted them to do? Well duh. When trapped, they would try and find an exit. It was automatic. Or at least, Cori felt like it should have been. She frowned and shook her head. "No, I disagree. If we go for the exits, and it is a trap, that's all well and good. We can find our way out. None of us here are that weak that we can't put up a punch or two." It was possible that their capture was waiting by the exit, ready to attack and kill them. But it was also a possibility that these four people had been chosen for a reason, maybe that reason was they all had fight in them. Maybe the capture was expecting them to come after him. Or her. "It's possible they're watching us right now. Nothing is certain."

Rule number one, always hunt alone. It seemed sort of contradictory, since everyone who has taught him a thing or two about hunting were hunters on the job that he assisted or hunters that assisted him on a job. If anything but to teach him the ropes, it might be now he understood finally why they were all so anally reluctant to work together with other hunters. Contradicting plans, theories, everything can contribute to tension, fights, and get people nowhere. Maybe Adam saw why hunters generally work alone now is because he could finally consider himself one-- Though that don't make him right, or either of the women right. The plan might be arguable, but the goal the same get the hell out of here.
So it seems like Brody-- as he calls himself-- isn't a hunter, and judging from what he said knows nothing of the supernatural. Why take him then? Wrong place wrong time? Or is he in on the whole captive thing? Regardless, hobo didn't fall with the crowd, which sets him apart and makes him suspicious. Then again, if Adam starts assuming one thing he'll miss out on clues that might take him in another direction. He gave himself a pat for that mental train of thought. He'd watch out for the smelly hobo, but he wasn't going to jump the gun.

The woman Brody had bumped into did seem a little snarky and perhaps bitchy but she had a point, though one Adam didn't care for. Of course it was a trap, everything that Adam has run into ever since stepping over the threshold of the isolation cell he has treated like a trap, and heading towards the exit he'd treat all the same. Though the point she had was a good one "Heading for the exits is what they’re expecting us to do. We need to do the unexpected. Go after whoever it was that locked us up.” Go after whoever it was that locked them up, Adam also liked that plan, it might prove more useful then heading towards the exit that would possibly be booby trapped more so then it was guarded. Adam would like to get his hands on whomever is behind this supernatural or otherwise and let them suffer a non-merciful end for the acts they've committed thus far.

"Listen," Adam started in a hushed tone. "If there were others, we'd have heard a lot more by now, it just seems like it's us. Lets not waste time looking through empty cells when we can actually stick together and be stronger as a whole. Not to frighten anyone here, but it's not like I'm a seasoned vet, and we already have someone who has less of a lick of what's going on then we do.

We all want to get out of here, so let's get out of here. The bump chick has a point though, let's try to follow the trails leading to these sons of a bitches and not the exit that way we can hopefully secure our tickets out of here. I doubt we're in Alaska though." He smirked a bit and shook his head, finding that little blurb of the woman's rant a little nonsensical.

If they were going to go after these sons of a bitches, the best bet would be to look around the isolation room to see if they could find the room that contained the bone saw and perhaps some freshly cut up body parts. Hunters seemed to have the most backwards ass jobs in the horror genre, instead of running from the bodies they must run to them.

"So I'm up for going after them, I know some of us might not like that idea but believe it or not it may prove to be safer." He looked at Brody, knowing he might think it's complete lunacy because he isn't a Hunter but it makes sense. They can't let this kind of thing to keep going on, and if they do manage to escape without finding these sons of a bitches they could still continue to do what they do, and perhaps even pick them up again or even worse perhaps just Brody and hell he'd probably regret it.

"What do you guys say?"

“I don’t know about the rest of you, but I haven’t had food or water for two days. Sleep hasn’t exactly been easy, which means I’m hungry, dehydrated, and not on top of my game.”

Unwilling to antagonise an already irritated women, Brody kept his thoughts to himself about that, tempted to point out that he managed to get on with his life in pretty much that state everyday but thinking better of it when he might actually need to rely on staying on her good side to get him out of trouble. In fairness, he usually didn’t have to fight for his life on a daily basis, so being undernourished wasn’t as much of a problem. When you lived free on the streets, pressures of time and urgency didn’t really apply like they did right now.

In their little huddle they all threw in a suggestion or three about what they should do, all with the exception of Brody who was quite content to go with the majority vote. Best to follow the advice of the professionals when you were out of your depth. But he wasn’t thrilled with the idea of splitting up. The odds were more in his favour if they stuck together, but there again, sticking together might take them twice as long to find a way out and the sooner he was out, the less likely it was anyone would find out the secret he was trying hard to hide from them all. He glanced down at his hands, nervously tugging on the edges of the gloves as he chewed on his lip and listened to the conversation.

Corinne made the suggestion that they could fight their way out if need be and yes Brody, if he had to, would bravely try and fight as best he could. He wasn’t completely useless, he did used to play hockey for a living, back before the whole stigmata curse had hit him, and he was well known as the guy who didn’t think twice about stepping in to back his team up in a brawl, but things were different these days. Stepping into fights usually ended up with him bleeding all over the place, not because he was bad at defending himself, but for some unfathomable reason, conflict was a trigger for the wounds of Christ. So if that made him fear situations like this, making everyone else think he was some kind of coward, then so be it. He’d rather be a coward than a freak. At least he got to choose whether or not he was labelled that way.

Rather dumbly, Brody looked at each person in turn, almost as if he was trying to figure out which one Adam was referring to as the one who was clueless. Realisation struck a second later.

“Oh, you mean me, right? Yeah, sorry.” He offered, knowing he was the weak link in the chain and feeling a little bad that they probably felt they had to look out for him as a result of it.

"So I'm up for going after them, I know some of us might not like that idea but believe it or not it may prove to be safer."

How on earth is going after the homicidal manic/supernatural monster going to be safer than running away and hiding?

“For the record, I think you’re all nuts but I don’t have a better plan. I can keep up, just…” He waved his hand in a vague gesture for them to continue. “You guys do what you gotta do. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for trouble and yell if it comes our way. Okay?”

It seemed, for the post part, that they were all in agreement. Whether this agreement was going to get them killed or not was another story. Sully didn’t like working with other people mainly because of everyone usually had their own way of doing things. If her way clashed with Adam’s or Adam’s with Corinne’s that could cause a problem and someone could wind up dead just because they couldn’t roll with each other.

The truth was, she was more concerned for Brody than anyone. Adam and Corinne were seemingly new at hunting, though she could be wrong about that, after all it’s not like this was a hunter’s anonymous meeting and they introduced themselves like, “Hi my name is Sully, I’ve been hunting for ten years.” Now was not the time to ask either. Besides, even if they were still wet behind the ears, well that was still better than Brody who seemed to be a homeless civilian. That probably meant little to no help.

Or it meant that Brody could at least be a look out. Something Sully hadn’t thought of right away. That wasn’t a bad idea. Except she wasn’t exactly sure how much good that was going to do them.

Sully wasn’t trying to be mean, but she needed to know how reliable Brody was going to be or if he was going to abandon his post and then the three of them would have no warning if someone slipped up behind them and cut their kidneys out of their back to sell on the black market.

Sully shook that thought from her head. She’d been watching the Urban Legends movie before she’d been capture and apparently some of its themes were still roaming around in her mind. She wondered, honestly, what their captors wanted with them. Other than being hungry and thirsty they all seemed to be in fair condition. So what the hell did these people want?

“I say we get moving. If we see any camera’s or audio devices we break them along the way. This way if we have to go back the way we came it’ll make harder for whoever is running this show to track us.” She looked around to see if anyone had any objections…or better ideas.

Cor wanted to add that she’d been hunting since she was a teenager, but thought it would be best not to say anything else. Not that she was afraid that anyone in their little group was going to try and do something, but if they were being taped or recorded, she wanted to keep some details to herself. The woman that was making a sour face appeared to have some sort of knowledge. Probably a hunter too. And Adam, well, he was good at a few things. Though she didn’t know about his hunting skills. It was just one of those wait and see things.

"So I'm up for going after them, I know some of us might not like that idea but believe it or not it may prove to be safer."

Though she didn’t think it was the right thing to do, Cori wasn’t gonna sit on her ass and do nothing. “Alright,” she nodded to Adam. It would take too much effort to disagree anymore, so she would just go along with the group. Unless they did something really stupid, then she would go off on her own. But for now, it seemed like they were sticking together.

“Oh, you mean me, right? Yeah, sorry.”

“I’m sure there are other skills you’re good at.” Cori spoke, trying to make the guy feel better. Even if he was just a civilian, there must have been something he was good at. Maybe he’d taken boxing classes and could even beat up the Hulk, you never knew. Either way, blushing like a little school girl wouldn’t help anything, so she tried to keep positive. Not that there was much to be cheery about in a place like this. Glancing around again, she tried to take in everything. The cells, the floor, the darkness. There wasn’t much hope. She’d gone to jail before, had to stay in a cell over night once, but this was nothing like that. She’d had her lock pick on her and had been able to escape within a few minutes. But now, she had nothing. Cori furrowed her brow and turned back to look at the group.


“Didn’t you already run away once?”

This lady really didn’t hold back. Cori jumped to defend the man. “That was before we knew what was going on. I’m sure now that we’re all a little more oriented…” Trailing off, looking towards Brody, she tried to hint something. He seemed like a nice guy, and she wasn’t much for throwing people under the bus, but if he ran off again, she sure as hell would not follow him. She did have a limit.

“I say we get moving. If we see any camera’s or audio devices we break them along the way.”

Nodding in agreement, Cori peered forward. There was nothing immediately in front of them, though she wasn’t so sure about anything else. If they rounded the corner, there could be a numerous amount of things waiting to attack them. What the other woman said about taking out any cameras along the way was a good idea. Though it would alert whoever it was that was brought them here of their location. But, some things had to be done. It was strange that Brody was the only non-hunter in the group, at least she thought so. The other woman might not have been a hunter, but Cori was pretty sure she could take someone out. She just hoped that everybody here was ready to fight.

Adam, how did you get yourself into this mess? Keep your mouth shut. Keep it shut, next time just keep it shut. Adam looked the three over, these were going to be his companions for the next several hours and he hoped to god that they would walk out of this prison compound together and in one piece. His suggestions were not him stepping up to take a leader role, he knew less of what they were doing then even the guy who has no clue what's going on. Adam isn't qualified to be a manager at McDonalds.

They all seemed in reluctant agreement to go after these assholes who put them here. Adam doubted more and more that this idea would cost them more in the long run, but three out of four of them were probably hunters and by golly were they going to damn well hunt for the son of a bitches that put them in here. Adam cleared his throat, without saying anything he began walking the opposite direction of where he came from, he wasn't sure how the layout of this prison worked, but practicality dictates there no one row of cells leads to a dead end. However, these were isolation cells, how that worked was beyond him.

In the back of his mind all he could think about was the screams, the cutting of bone and flesh as people were being slaughtered like animals or worse while he sat back and listened for two days. They made them listen.

Adam's hand ran down the length of his face as he sighed pondering what or who could have taken them and why? They were all hunting or seemingly hunting the same thing, save Brody who was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Why were they the only ones left? Why were they released now? What happened to the constant screaming of bodies being cut up into what seemed like little pieces? All of these questions and more ran through his head, along with trivial stuff like why does Brody smell worse off then the rest of them? What would Adam have to do to get the digits of this woman hunter? And does Corrine look hotter all dirty or what?

Adam had to keep his mind on the game, whatever that may be. There was some sort of game here, he just couldn't put all the pieces together to play. His foot steps continued to fall onto the dark and damp floor of the isolation sector of what may prove to be a fairly large prison.

Since it was dark he closed his eyes as he could not see anyway perhaps it would give him a better sense of concentration when it came to honing his other sensory functions. Not that it took too much skill to do that, when one sense becomes unavailable your other senses seem to be heightened or at the very least are easily distinguishable.

Every corner he turned, every foot step he took he knew he was getting one step closer to the thing that brought them here. Every corner he turned, every foot step he took, his heart raced and beat as if it were going to burst out of his chest. Every corner he turned, every foot step he took, he felt as if he were one more step closer to his death.

“Didn’t you already run away once?”

“Admittedly, yes. But only a little bit.” He said sheepishly. Not his finest hour, particularly when he hadn’t exactly gotten far in the process either.

“Won’t happen again. I promise.” Nodding adamantly, he fell into line behind them as they went in search of whoever it was that had captured them in the first place. After a couple of minutes wandering, he chipped in with a hushed voice.

“That is unless you three all get killed. ‘Cause then I’d definitely be running away.”

In the dim light, he could almost feel them all giving him a blank look, like he’d just said the last thing they would have wanted to hear right now.

“And I’m shutting up now.” Nervously he smiled and went back to towing the line, occasionally looking over his shoulder, expecting to see someone else sneaking up behind them.

The more he thought about it, the less he liked being at the back. If he was going to get picked off by a deranged killer, the rest of them might not even notice he was gone. But then going first didn’t appeal either. Whoever was at the front might walk straight into a trap. Maybe he should have been in the middle of the group? No, that wouldn’t work either, he wouldn’t have a clear route of escape if he did need to run away.

To keep his mind off the fact he was scared beyond belief, he started softly humming the first tune that came to mind, not realising that it might give their location away to anyone looking for them.

This seemed like it was going to end badly. In fact it was highly probable. Sully had been gradually learning about hunting on her own since she was seventeen. After she took off from New Mexico she had taken odd jobs at diners to make sure she had enough money to survive. It was then she started coming across people hunting things. She never had one that took her under their wing, but she started picking things up and learning where to look to find answers. Though it had started out slow, Sully realized that if you didn’t learn quick, well you were quick to end up dead.

Looking around at these…well kids, Sully didn’t figure they were seasoned hunters. Probably a year or two under their belts tops. As for the hobo, he looked older than her, but Sully didn’t figure he would be much use in a fight. This is why she disliked people in general. They complicated shit. If she was just watching her own back this would go a lot smoother. As it was though, she figured it was better to have two greenish hunters and a crazy homeless man on her team than a couple of civilians that were screaming their bloody head off because their fragile little psyche’s couldn’t process what was going on.

“Won’t happen again. I promise.”

Sully gave him a flat look. Somehow she didn’t really believe that he wouldn’t run to save his own hide if they were backed into a corner.

“That is unless you three all get killed. ‘Cause then I’d definitely be running away.”

There it was. His cowardly nature coming to the forefront again. Yeah, this was going to end well.

“And I’m shutting up now.”

“Thank God,” She muttered more to herself than the others before looking at the other two. “Let’s get moving. Keep your eyes peeled for anything that we might be able to use as a weapon.”

She started down the corridor cautiously, using both sight, hearing, and gut instinct as she moved. It was the hearing that put the look of shock on her face as she turned back to the homeless guy. “Are you really humming the Teddy Bear’s Picnic song?” She raised her eyebrows and shook her head not waiting for a response. “Do me a favor and go back to shutting up. It’d be a shame if we all had to miss the picnic because your off key humming got us killed.”

Cori really wanted to like Brody. She wanted to help him, because he was the odd man out. But he was making that pretty hard for her. He was loud, clumsy, and he reminded her of a little child. But he was with them and they had to stick together. Things were silent for the most part and that was alright with Cor, it helped her focus. The comforting sounds of the footsetps of the people around her were soon interrupted by a tune. Cori blinked, almost too surprised to say anything. She would have thought that this man had the common sense to know when to shut up. This wasn't Kindergarten, they weren't supposed to have been told to play the "silent game".

“Do me a favor and go back to shutting up. It’d be a shame if we all had to miss the picnic because your off key humming got us killed.”

Frowning, but knowing that Brody needed to be shut up, Cori continued walking. So intent of looking behind her, she almost didn't notice the opening coming up on her left. It appeared to be a doorway, but she didn't want to get her hopes up. It wouldn't be a way out, it wasn't that easy. But still...Cori put her hand to her back, automatically. It was a subconcious act. There was no gun there, no knife. She had no weapons. Frowning in annoyance, she looked to the people around her. Slowing her pace a bit, so her footsteps were silent on the hard ground, Cori gestured to the door.

"Well, what do you guys think?" If everyone wanted to keep walking, she would too. After all this was only the first door they passed, there could possibly be more, but it could also be the only door. It looked sketchy, but it was a way out. Maybe. Looking at Adam, Brody, and the other woman, she waited to see what they would say. Usually she was an alpha personality, liking to be in charge of the situation, but for now she would step back and let everyone decided on things together. It was easier this way.

Here it was, the first obstacle. Well, there were actually a few obstacles already but this was the first one they'd tackle as a group, or not. Lets hope everyone seems to be in the cooperative mood, at least for the moment. Brody's humming was easily pinpointed as the first felony, the woman hunter quickly shut him up (or attempted to) with a quick witted and half angry response. Something in Adam's core shook, and it wasn't anything to do with hormones, this chick sort of scared him. She's defiantly over some line on the hot-crazy scale.He wasn't keen on the idea of going through the first door that didn't look like an isolation cell door, it seemed fruitless. Nothing was ever good beyond the first door, it would be either boring or pointless to their journey, and it would require them to take time out of their escape. But you had to cover all of your bases.

With a reluctant step forward Adam pressed himself flush against the wall, placing his hand on the door he braced himself to leap at anything that came through, he looked at the others hoping they were ready giving them time to actually prepare for some form of hand-to-hand, or if they're unlucky hand-to-chainsaw which in most cases doesn't usually favor the "hand" aspect of the battle.

Turning the rusted knob of the door Adam swung it open and thusly turned the corner to step into the room after a quick second wait to see if something or someone would bull rush through however Adam didn't really think it all through as well as he thought he did.

It turns out, a room would have to still be relatively close to the isolation cell block to have screams and the sounds of bone being cut for the occupants of those cells to hear them. Unfortunately, this was the said room where everyone essentially met their fate at the hands of their crazy captors.

The stench of death filled the room, pieces of mangled flesh pooled in wraps around the table legs that were probably once a nice polished metal finish, which were now covered in rancid bodily fluids and other excrement. The walls seemed to have faded behind the stapling of human flesh that decorated the room for gruesome effect. All around hung unclean bones of victims to decorate a rather unseemly kill space. The floor was littered with spare and tossed internal organs making for a rather unfortunate carpeting. In retrospect, it gives the effect of complete and utter terror.

Adam's stomach agreed.

Hunching over pushing past those behind him to leave the room he immediately began violently vomiting off in the darkness, holding himself up against the cool prison walls. It wasn't what he expected, this wasn't the cleanest killer in the word. They were deranged, and thusly had to be treated as such. He paused for breath as he began to dry heave, there was very little in Adam's system that he could actually puke up, the sensation and the reactions made him all the more weaker as he waited to regain his equilibrium and whatever left he had of his sanity.

Brody had seen some scary things in his time and not just supernatural stuff either. You’d be surprised by how much death there is on the streets of a big city. During the winter months especially, homeless people risked their lives surviving in places where the temperatures regularly dipped below freezing. So yeah, Brody had seen a few dead bodies over the years, frozen shells huddled into inadequate shelter from the elements, occasionally the victims of hungry rodents or stray dogs after the fact, but all of that paled in comparison to what lay behind the door Adam had just opened. If Brody ever imagined a Hell, this would be what it looked like.

Immediately he felt all the blood drain from his face and the instinct to flee kicked in. While everyone else was distracted by the horror inside the room, Brody backed up and chose to do what he did best. He could already sense the shift in his body that could spell an episode of his stigmata, the sixth sense that had the hairs on the back of his neck sticking up, and this was not the place he wanted to spontaneously start bleeding. So he disappeared into the darkness, away from the scene of death and away from the people he didn’t know. By the time he was out of breath, he was far away from the sounds of Adam’s retching, lost in the maze of corridors and shadows.

“Why does this stuff keep happening to me?!” He muttered to himself, panicked and nervous and quickly doubting that breaking away from the group was the best idea he’d ever had. Particularly when the sound of a chainsaw being revved up came from right behind him. Immediately his eyes went wide with fear as he turned to see a figure coming towards him in the dim light and he swiftly bolted in the opposite direction as fast as his considerably long legs would carry him.

Straight into a dead end.

“No, no, no, no!” He yelled desperately, throwing his fist at the wall in defeat now that he was cornered. It suddenly seemed like his time was up.

“Please, don’t do this! I haven't done anything to you!”

The noise of the chainsaw drowned out everything he was saying though and no amount of pleading was going to get him out of this one. It wasn’t like he could even fight back either, with no weapons to hand, fending off a chainsaw was impossible. So Brody pressed himself up against the solid wall behind him and swallowed, bracing himself for the inevitable.

“Agghhhhhh!!!” He yelled as he saw the chainsaw swinging towards him, his hands up in front of him in false hope that he could actually defend himself. But just moments before he was sliced into two, something very odd happened that Brody would never be able to explain.

A sudden and brilliant bright light engulfed him, so bright in fact he had to scrunch his eyes shut because it hurt too much to look. The sound that came with it was far louder than the chainsaw too and Brody dropped into a crouch, his hands instinctively covering his ears in a bid to save his hearing. And then just as quickly as it had come, it disappeared again leaving Brody feeling like he’d gone deaf and blind all at once.

When he opened his eyes he wasn’t in the creepy old prison anymore but all he could see were blobs of white light in his vision that wouldn’t quite go when he blinked, and all he could hear was a kind of ringing in his ears as though he’d been too close to church bells being rung. Gradually though awareness came back to him. He was outside somewhere unfamiliar and it was night time and most thankfully of all, there was no homicidal maniac swinging a chainsaw at his head.

“What the…?”

In all the confusion, he almost didn’t notice that his hands had started to bleed.

((Sorry guys, but I really lost my muse for this thread after it's been dormant for over a month, so I'm taking Brody out of there thanks to a little angelic help. I have a new thread I want to do which will follow on from this one and I figure with it being new year soon, it's as good a time to bow out as any.))
